• Drew Pearson gave a not-so-subtle dig today to Terrell Owens when he introduced Ed "Too Tall" Jones as winner of the Tom Landry Memorial Legend Award. Pearson said during Jones' 15-year career he never missed a game. "And guess what?" Pearson said. "He never missed a practice as well." The crowd knew what Pearson was talking about, but I couldn't see T.O.'s reaction. • Dan Campbell was named the winner of the Ed Block Courage Award. Of course, he didn't attend because he now plays for Detroit. • Terry Glenn was recognized as last year's offensive MVP, and Terence Newman was named defensive MVP. Solid choices. I wonder who finished second. On offense, I'd go with Drew Bledsoe or Jason Witten. On defense, probably Bradie James. Any thoughts out there? • On top of proceeds generated from the luncheon, the Cowboys kicked in an extra $50,000 to the Happy Hill Farm, a home for at-risk kids. A number of Happy Hill graduates came back to tell their success stories, and the farm's choir performed the national anthem.

Roy Williams should have finished second for the Cowboys' defensive MVP. He was the first defensive back in at least five years to have at least three interceptions, 2.5 sacks and three forced fumbles for turnovers in one season. He also scored a game-winning touchdown and recovered a fumble at the goal line, and five of his six forced turnovers either gave the Cowboys a touchdown, gave the Cowboys the ball inside the opponent's 15-yard line or stopped the opponent inside Dallas' 15. That's a lot of big plays at key moments.

Robert, there is no was to possibly envision Billy Volek getting cut in the foreseeable future while Vince Young is incapable of playing quarterback in the NFL.... and right now, there is no way Vince can step in as an NFL quarterback. As far as Romo, he's unproven, but all of the signs he has shown are very positive. Would you be afraid to put a young Joe Montana on the field because he hadn't thrown an NFL pass? Keep in mind that Montana was not heralded as a great QB when he was a 3rd round draft pick.
