A Giant meltdown

  E-mail   News tips

Everything went the Cowboys way Sunday. And they never had to get off the couch.

Giants tight end Jeremy Shockey, who didn't sound too concerned about the Titans last week, played Sunday's game with a bone protruding from his ring finger.

While Tony Romo was network hopping last night, the Eagles were exiting stage left. If the Cowboys can put the Giants out of their misery Sunday, they have a great shot at finishing 12-4.

Question that's being asked around here this morning: Will Romo be named the NFC MVP?

If the Cowboys finish 12-4 and run away with the NFC East, why not?

Drew Brees has the numbers, but I'm still not convinced the Saints are the real deal. We'll certainly see for ourselves in a couple of weeks.

ummm, so is there any way to get rid of the drew bledsoe graphic at the top of the page, and replace it with romo? i mean, its kinda depressing to see bledsoe still at the top...

MVP??? Come on now... Lets come back down to earth alittle. If Brees tanks (and I mean REALLY tanks) and the Cowboys can win out, then and only then would Romo have a chance at it... Ya gotta pay your dues

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy, and I'm talking about Tom Coughlin. Coughlin is a bully, not a coach. Eli Manning clearly has talent (not as much as our guy!) and has endured the nightmare of having to learn the game from one of the worst HCs in the NFL. Bet he and his dad wish Eli had stayed put in SD and played for Schottenheimer.

Can't wait for next Sunday!

I know either Aadai or Maroney will probably win rookie honors this year, but Vince Young will have the greatest impact on the league long term. The Wonderlick should be flushed down the toilet as an evaluation tool.

I think the Saints game in a couple weeks may have a lot to do with who wins the NFC MVP award. It may also determine who gets a first round bye. How many games did Warner start in 1999 when he came in and led the Rams to a Super Bowl victory? Was he the MVP that year?

Next week is going to be a tough game to be sure. jints are angry. Our Boys have to step up and plung it deep into thier hearts. I'm lovin' it. 3wks ago the NY press was talkin bout an all NY super bowl. I can't gloat, its not nice..(snickker)

If the Cowboys go in there and really destroy the Giants, I hope at some point some Cowboys start doing that whole jump shot celebration to mock the Giants. That is the single lamest sports move since Doug Christie started pointing to the sky. Maybe the Cowboys can ruin that move for them so we dont have to see it ever again.

Can we really give the MVP to a guy who wasn't considered to be good enough to play until the middle of the 6th game of the season? At least Warner played all 16 games...

That said, the next two weeks will pretty much define which playoff seed the Cowboys will have.

So far Romo has turned this season around for the 'Boys. The question is can he perform under the glare of the national spotlight? Rookies often choke when the national spotlight is on them. If Romo can handle the media hype and play his game, the Cowboys can go far into the playoffs. The true tests start vs NYG and NO. Romo must win both, or the Cowboys won't make it to the Superbowl.

One of the reasons you media giys turn so feral when players don't live up to you expectations is beacuse you all want to be the first anoint the next superstar - so you jump the gun and the shoot the star when they don't live up to your estimation. Let's wait until (if) we beat the Giants. Nothing would cure their second half slump like sticking it to the Cowboys i the most hostile environment Romo will face. If the TEAM gets past the opponent who's always a tough match-up then we can speculate on 12-4 and MVP. A little.

No one deserves a nasty bone protruding break more than that loud mouth Jeremy Shockey. Beating NY, NO, and that dud Vick to grab home field would be priceless.

The Giants are a mess right now, but they playing for their lives on Sunday. They were humiliated at Tennessee and despite their 3-game losing streak, this will be a battle. That said, nothing will be sweeter than finally silencing loudmouths like Shockey and Plaxico Burress while sending one of the biggest jerks in the league, Tiki Barber, one step closer to his next career as a morning talk show host.

Another sighting. The Matt Mosley Blog was brought up in a Romo topic of conversation on this morning's opening of Cold Pizza. The blog is blowing up nationwide. Keep up the great work and great insight.

hahaha... yeah, ROMO for MVP... anybody watch the Cowboys - Saints game last night? ROMO gets one touchdown out of pur luck, and should have been picked three times... Brees throws 5 TDs, and passes the 4000 yard passing mark... if he throws for 350 ypg the last three, he surpasses Marino for the all-time single season passing record... doesn't look like the "boys" are running any tables now does it?
