We just finished with the first 20 minutes of practice. Everyone appeared to be healthy, including the guys who attended this party Monday night in Los Angeles. If you didn't receive an invitation to T.O.'s birthday bash, don't let it get you down. I was surprised that Bill Parcells didn't make the trip to LA. Do you think Bill's familiar with Justin Timberlake and Bobby Brown's work? What about Xzibit? I'm told Brown closed the show with four songs, including "Don't be Cruel" and "My Prerogative," two songs that inspired me as a teen. m |

If Snoop Dogg wouldnt have been in jail, he was scheduled to sing TO's theme song:
Drop It Like It's Hot
by SNOOP DOGG (f/ Pharrell Williams)
[Chorus]
When Romo throws the pass ya
TO
Drops it like it's hot
Drops it like it's hot
Drops it like it's hot

I would have given TO a bottle of baby oil for his B-Day to soften up his hands.
His drops have cost this team dearly and I can't see the Cowboys not going WR in Round 1 or trading for some of Detroit's or Atlanta's WR talent.
They need a true 1 to replace TO. Don't discount the trade option -- those teams are just poorly put together and managed. I am sure a few of those guys can really play with good coaching.

Why would the owner of the Sacramento Kings give T.O. a $45,000 watch?

Robert u r a little out of touch.
Det's WR are troublemakers & Atlanta as a group is going to be shot by Vick for how many balls they've dropped.

The drops are inexcusable, but did the networks or Joe Buck and his ilk even tally dropped passes before they realized it was another way to hate on TO? I find myself almost inclined to defend the guy because dudes like Buck and Peter King are so over the top with their loathing of him.

T.O. has had a few too many drops, for sure. However, he has also made some big catches, and I'd argue that Dallas wouldn't be in the position they're in without him. Between the catches, including many clutch, 3rd down conversions, and all the attention he gets on the field, it would be hard to replace the production.

If invited I would have bought him a Donovan McNabb jersey for his birthday. (LOL)

Speaking of alternative WR starters.....I have not seen anything that would give me a reason to think Sam Hurd couldn't be that guy and he's already on the team. Why is it that if the DE's play below their potential there is the threat to make a change but the same isn't so for T.O. or any other (insert Julius Jones name here)offensive player?

I'm surprised he didn't nod off and take a nap as soon as the lights went down. I guess he has the energy to stay awake to honor himself but not to pay attention to when his coaches are trying to instruct him.

sorry, couldn't ignore Robert's comment about Detroit or Atlanta having... WR "talent"???!?!?
seriously? both of those teams resemble the Cowboys of the late 90s. you know what I'm talkin' about... balls hittin' receivers in the hands and the receivers droppin' balls....
I hope that Matt jumps on this... Detroit and Atlanta LACK WR talent. The Cowboys have it.

Many consider Roy Williams of the Lions an excellent wide receiver. As far as the Falcons go, blame should be placed solely on Vick's girl like passing style. One of the worst QBs to ever play in the NFL.

OK, you can disagree but I feel you can get some big time WR talent from those rosters and very very cheap. Only time will tell.
But I do know this -- lots of talent is getting lost on those rosters.
And to use a local example, BP said one of the reasons they got rid of Torrin Tucker was b/c he was a bad influence on Gurode. Now folks are talking Gurode to the pro-bowl. So when you have talent (5 1st Round WRs on those teams) sometimes you need a new environment and folks to thrive.
But I am a fool to think other teams have excellent, under-performing talent.

Also, please look up Shaun Rogers from Detroit too. A NT who is not suited for the Marinelli scheme......
Don't believe everything you read in the media about those WRs. If so you would have junked the Cowboys OL before the Romo renaissance...

"I find myself almost inclined to defend the guy because dudes like Buck and Peter King are so over the top with their loathing of him"
Nothing was funnier than the exchange after Troy pointed out the low ball on thanksgiving wasn't catchable after Buck went on for about 5 minutes about "another dropped ball by TO"

Its really amazing how people have blinders on towards anything TO does negative. He has dropped passes throughout his career. Get over it. Yes he could have won the game vs Washington but so could Roy Williams, and Vanderclank. Once we got a QB in there who didn't mind throwing to TO we have exploded. We haven't had a WR this dynamic since Irvin in his prime. With the mix of veterans and young guys there really is no need to draft a WR in the first few rounds of the draft. We have other areas we should focus on.

We need OL, NT, FS and WR.
Most pressing is OL. They get pushed around way too often and are missing some serious road-graders. Look for Blalock from Texas or Brown from Penn State or Staley from W Mich........

I'm no HUGE T.O fan but if you'll check he's on pace to break some all-time Cowboys records. Rec. yards on pace for 1,300 2nd only to M. Irvin and I believe if he just averages 6 catches per game he'll be # 1 in receptions in the history of the Dallas Cowboys. I think he's got a chance at 2nd or 3rd in TD's as well. He drops a few but he IS dynamic on the field and teams have to game plan for him.
