You guys came through with some great restaurant recommendations. Since many of you (213,454) have asked, we ended up at South City Kitchen in Midtown on Friday night. Archer went with the green chili meatloaf, which he described as "flaky yet wonderful." I went for lighter fare: buttermilk fried chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans. We then walked a few blocks to a place called Front Page News and enjoyed music from a band called Tuppeware Party. Since everyone there was at least 10 years younger than us, our request for Doors music didn't go over so well. On Saturday afternoon, I have to accept complete blame for not going to The Varsity. I had brunch on the mind but The Pleasant Peasant backfired on us. At one point, the waitress walked over and apologized for initially mistaking me for a homeless person. Apparently my Pebble Beach golf cap threw her off. Much, much more to come. m

Have you been to The Varsity before, Matt?
National Geographic did a very interesting story on The Varsity some years back. Don't know how many other restaurants have had a NatGeo story on them.

Since I recommended the Chicken and Waffles do I get a T-shirt?
