T.O. was a no-show but several of his teammates made themselves available this morning. Cornerback Terence Newman said he was tired of all the talking his teammates have been doing and said he'd like to actually to see some results. Asked if he was talking about players on both sides of the ball, Newman said, "It's possible." Newman wouldn't name names, but his frustration comes a week after linebacker Bradie James called a players-only meeting for the defense. James has basically appointed himself the voice of the defense and my gut tells me that Newman's sort of tired of listening to him. Told what Newman had said about all the wordiness, James said he agreed. "We've made this bed," James said. "Now we have to lay in it. The good thing about the bed is that all hope isn't lost."

I'm with Newman. Guys need to shut up and play up. Nothing like a D that is tearing itself apart just before the start of the season.
It looks like the streak of not winning a playoff game is going to reach ridiculous proportions.

Ugh - usually the leader of the D actually does something to make an impact on game day. Closest thing we have to someone like that is Roy, but he's been MIA for a while. . . Can't Greg Ellis stand on the sideline and give some players a swift kick in the butt???

Bradie, if history means anything, all IS lost. It has been 30 years since an NFC wild card team made it to the superbowl, and the way you guys are playing, I dont expect that record will be broken this year. You guys had a golden opportunity and you squandered it, TWICE.

Terence Newman played for coaches in high school and college (Marvin Diener and Bill Snyder) where talking, especially when you weren't performing, would earn you a spot on the bench. The guy works hard and does his best to be a great teammate. I hope certain players will heed his advice.

Maybe...just maybe these guys are gonna to "man up" & play some ball.

Stop talking and start playing. End of story.

Terrence newman has it correct. By my observation from Monday night I counted at least five "blown" plays from defensive captain Bradie James. This guy is all talk and no action. He has become a liability on defense, along with Dallas' two starting DEs!

How exactly do people consider Roy "I can't cover" Williams a leader of anything besides blown coverage, and missed shoestring tackles? Maybe it's time for this entire team to shut up, stop pointing fingers, and try to figure out how to win.

Yes Roy has his problems - and they are HUGE ones with blown coverages and weak tackles - but he can also change a game with a well placed destructo-hit. He's done it a few times over the years - who else can we say that about??? That's why I said he's the "closest" thing we have. Ain't perfect.

There's too much bulk to keep up with the speedier offensive opposition
I think this team misses Dat Nuygen and Dexter Coakley flying to the ball. If they only had some of the more talented lineman they have now back when they had these smaller faster LBs that could cover I don't think you would see teams beating us in the flats.
