Pre-Bill Report

What sort of mood will Bill be in this afternoon?

I don't think he'll use the word "non-competitive" again. This is going to be one of those circle-the-wagons moments.

The reason he still thinks this team has a chance to do something has a lot to do with the sorry state of the NFC, where 7-8 teams are still hoping to sneak into the playoffs.

I gave this a lot of thought last night while watching this movie with my wife on HBO. The Cowboys could learn a lot from Mr. Darcy's never-say-die attitude.

As I mentioned earlier, Terence Newman came strong this morning by saying he was tired of all the talking his teammates were doing. He said the Cowboys were "abused" by the Eagles

"I didn't even look at the film to be honest with you," Newman said. "Some people need to stop talking. We need to get back to being consistent. And the best time to do it is right now."

LB Bradie James was still upset about not winning a division title. He said he'd never won a championship at any level and desperately wanted to win the NFC East.

"That's out the window now," he said.

Dude, let's nip this chick flick reference thing in the bud. It's just not done in NFL related columns. You know, the whole man law thing.

This is ridiculous. Just ridiculous. Bradie James!?! James got burned badly against the Eagles. Yah, yah, I know -- EVERYBODY gets burned now and then. But Newman's had a great year. And given the choice between Terence Newman stepping up and slapping some sense into his teammates or ... Bradie James? I'll take Newman, no contest. And I'm GLAD that some players sound fed up ... hopefully it'll escalate a little, because if it takes a scuffle or two in the locker room amongst teammates to get some fire back in this group, then I'm all for it!

You must really love your wife...

Bradie certainly didn't play like a man that wanted to win the NFC East .... Especially on an Eagles score, where he watched a player go right by him for a TD.

These player only meetings sound dangerously like the Giants and their own meltdown this season. And for gosh sakes..Bradie James talking about getting in bed together ??? I hope they just follow Newman's advice. Just shut up 'cause everybody is part of the problem and all have to shut their mouths, get on the field, and get ready to play football !!

While I agree wholeheartedly with the need to stop talking...I'm having a hard time with the 'back' to being consistent line. I guess I'm having trouble remembering any consistency this season.

Big players make big plays in big games. I only see Fergie, D-Ware & Newman playing at a decent level. Bradie James has done nothing but give out sound bites all year. I haven't seen him make a stop behind the line of scrimmage all year

Bradie got that contract, so now he's "comfortable." Dude is garbage. Isn't he the bonehead that blew coverage in the ATL and NO game on the goal line several times? Shut up kid, and give back some of that money you stole, b/c you certainly have not earned it.
