I was asking Jason Witten a question Wednesday about Romo's huddle presence late in games and reminded him of how Joe Montana lightened the mood by telling the offense where John Candy was sitting before directing the game-winning drive to beat Cincinnati in the Super Bowl. Witten couldn't think of anything similar from Romo, but he had this to say from the Tampa Bay game on Thanksgiving: "There's two minutes left in the game and we were wondering if we were doing to take a knee and he comes in, 'All right guys, block 'em up, I'm going for it. Some of the linemen had already undone their shoulder pads a little. The look on Flozell's face, like, 'Tony, are you serious?' Then he goes, 'Just relax, we're taking a knee.'" |

I guess you had to be there. I think Archer and Mosley have different definitions of 'funny'.

I watch the press conferences every night. PLEEEEEEEEASE let Archer ask the TO question. If Sham, Jacques or C-Hill asks it, we'll get some lame answer. If Todd asks it, we'll get one of those moments replayed on ESPN for weeks.

I heard that Romo does things to keep the guys loose. Can't remember who said it, but one example was right after he called a play, he then looked around at the tense faces in the huddle, and with a pretended look of confusion, said "What play did I just call?", before smiling and breaking the huddle. I'll take that over the Eli "deer in the headlights" expression anytime!!

I don't know about everyone else, but I thought it was pretty funny. Nothing like putting a panic into your team when they're trying to wind down the final minutes to get a good laugh.
