Unbelievable stadium!!! Anyone know if it comes with safeties that can actually cover and tackle?

That's a pretty cool looking stadium. Like Texas Stadium on steroids.

Posted by Big Tom, NYC @ 1:09 PM Tue, Dec 12, 2006
I love the look! I just don't know if I could ever afford to attend a game there. I just may have to move to DFW or Arlington!
Posted by Ken @ 1:16 PM Tue, Dec 12, 2006
I like it alot. I think the field level suites are a cool idea. I'm most pleased that the hole in the roof is staying.

Awesome, Best in all of sports. Kind of have to wonder about players walking by the suites. (rich fans get drunk too)

Laura Miller can kiss the Cotton Bowl game and TX-OU good bye. All Jerry needs to do is start selling fried twinkies and corny dogs, and people will forget every reason why the games shouldn't be at Jerryland.

It certainly looks good from the outside. Hopefully the view from the seats, and boxes are just as good. Very interested in hearing what name they finally decide on.
Posted by bruce @ 1:49 PM Tue, Dec 12, 2006
It looks incredible. That thing is going to make people hate Ameriquest Field even more on those 110 degree August nights. He should show Rangers games on the jumbotron in that air conditioned bad boy and see which place draws a bigger crowd.

Wow! Now if only the team can become as good as the new stadium.
Posted by drew @ 1:57 PM Tue, Dec 12, 2006
The team needs some fixin' but the old Texas Stadium is just fine with me, just fix the leaking roof. And I see Jerry wants to include a leaking in roof in the new stadium anyway. I wonder if the homes in suburban Arkansas come complete with a hole in the roof too.
Posted by Jeff L. @ 2:05 PM Tue, Dec 12, 2006
Obviously I can't say for sure, but although the picture does show a 'hole' in the roof, I'm pretty sure it's just a depiction of the roof being open or partially open. It will be retractable ala Reliant or several others around the league.
Posted by cory @ 2:07 PM Tue, Dec 12, 2006
I wonder if it comes with a free safety, or turf that only slows down the other teams receivers? A little more thought into the stadium maybe....
Posted by salman merchant @ 2:16 PM Tue, Dec 12, 2006
I just wish it was in Downtown.
Posted by Druid @ 2:18 PM Tue, Dec 12, 2006
I dont know man...does it fly ? what if we have another 5-10 years of mediocrity playing in a billion dollar statium ? I for one, prefer something open air like the Cotton Bowl, and anyway...whats the problem with the Texas Stadium ? So it's 35 years old (???!!!?!?!) change the uniforms now and then, but dont see the point of keeping up with the Joneses (...ooops...didnt mean another ...Jerry-joke...)
Posted by Tarod @ 2:19 PM Tue, Dec 12, 2006

For the price tag, I hope it comes with self-regenerating artifical turf.

Will the ring of honor have enough room for Drew Pearson?
Posted by Kirby @ 2:56 PM Tue, Dec 12, 2006
The design of the stadium and retractable roof is quite clever. When the roof is opened, it is almost identical to the size of the hole in Texas Stadium. Nice. And 60 Y A R D screens above the field??? Unreal. Cant wait to see the Ring of Honor, and the Tom Landry statue there too.
Posted by Coyote @ 2:59 PM Tue, Dec 12, 2006
From the looks of it, you should have enough Ring of Honor room for the whole bloody phonebook. If they havent given the great Drew Pearson some room at Texas Stadium, doubt they'll give him a break here.
And yes TOM LANDRY STADIUM has a good Ring to it.
Posted by PackMan @ 2:59 PM Tue, Dec 12, 2006

Naming rights/money are a big deal. It will not be called Tom Landry Stadium (as nice as that would be). With a price tag of $1 billion, and only $350 million of that being paid by Arlington, I can guarantee you that the naming rights will be sold.
Posted by Coyote @ 3:51 PM Tue, Dec 12, 2006
