ESPN's Joe Theismann weighs in on Terrell Owens. "Why does Bill Parcells need to put up with this person?," Theismann said. "This guy here is the worst thing in sports. Take any sport - take the fights, the brawls. He is worse than any of them. He gripes - if you catch the football, maybe people will throw it to you. Now there's a novel idea for T.O. to consider. He's not that good, he shoots his mouth off, he always wants attention, he's not contributing to the success of the players on the field. That's the only reason guys tolerated him, because they thought he was a pretty good football player." He adds: "This is a bad football player -- he's bad for the game of football, and he's bad to be a part of the team.” |

Right now, we're not in a position to argue with him. This is what we've sunk to, when THEESEman is right about something.

Sounds like the things Joe's former teammates said and still say about him.
I've been all for throwing TO over the rails. But if Theisman thinks it should be done, I'll have to reconsider. He's never right.
The combination of getting pummelled by Philly, having TO & Parcells as Cowboys, and listening to Theisman is too much to stomach.
Someone, please make it stop!

Does anybody care what this idiot Theismann thinks of anything?
T.O. is a minor problem compared to a coach who can no longer game plan, motivate, or coach during a game. Its almost comical how he gets outcoached. Make no mistake, the talent level of the cowboys defensive squad is as good as any in the league, and next year, with a new coach, it will show up big time.

All you Cowboys fans are just learning what 49ers and Eagles fans already knew: TO is a cancer.

Who thinks T.O. is the best receiver in the NFL - only T.O. The Cowboys made a big mistake signing him - I am beginning to wonder if his "drops" are intentional.

Now I am no great fan of TO, and I still have mixed feelings about him playing for my beloved Cowboys, but give the guy a break.
Screws in his hand. Torn tendons. And he's still playing tough. Maybe he's not grabbing everything thrown at him, but he's catching enough of them so that must be accounted for by defenses.

He'll make some plays, post some stats, but his lack of respect for his coaches and teammates corrode a team from inside. That's what he did here in Philly, now you've got him. Hee hee.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. We know that TO won't be back next year, so why not cut him now? Might shake things up and the downside is very small.

Yep...this from the guy that changed the pronunciation of his name in order to hype himself for an award. Nothing says "ME" like doing that...right?

Never thought I'd agree with Theezmun about anything.
I need to go check the weather channel to see if Hell has, indeed, frozen over....

Richard, you can't trust meteorologists any more than you trust a Washington Redskin. But I agree that hell may have frozen over if Theismann is making any sense.

Hate to admit it but...Philly fans were right. T.O. is a CANCER!! They're reaping the rewards of cutting him by winning a division crown. We are stuck with a team that's lost any motivation because of his locker room tactics!

t.o. should give 13 of his 15 game checks back

I wished Parcell would just leave. I can't stand this guy anymore. He's the most over-rated coach. Gee, two big games on the line against Saints and Eagles at home and your team comes out flat like they didn't come out to play. This guy is brain dead at making plays. Forget about T.O. being over rated, Parcell is the biggest over rated.

I'm an Eagles fan, but I can't gloat over the Cowboys misfortunes. Initially there was glee over T.O. going to Dallas, as if getting rid of a bad case of the runs. Now it's just sad, because we know firsthand what it was like. I can't take this Eagles win for granted, I just wish the Cowboys could play without the giant distraction that is T.O.

How can we miss Joe if he won't go away!

As an Eagles fan , I can empathize with what the Cowboy fans are going through. T.O. is a cancer to a locker room. His antics after the game on Monday only reinforced our resolve to get rid of him.
Parcells did not want him. Jerry Jones will send him packing. If he knows what's good for the Cowboys.
Good luck with the rest of the season.

First, T.O. is the second most annoying person in the NFL. Theisman is first. Why does ESPN let him have a job?
I think most people are over-reacting. T.O. has been a moderate annoyance for a couple weeks this year. Just because it gets air time doesn't mean its affecting players in practice or on game day. His drops are annoying, but he has an injury. I do say he isn't worth top money though. Parcells has attracted players we would have never had.

I think Joe's comments are right on the money. They should change T. O. nickname to ZERO instead of T. O. He is a disgrace to the NFL, the Cowboys, the DFW community and anyone that has any respect for the human race.
