Poor defense

The defense hasn't played well in this first half. Over the last three games the Cowboys defense has allowed 12 plays of 25 or more yards.

Playoff teams, well, teams that go deep into the playoffs, don't do that.

The secondary continues to have problems in coverage and there is very little pressure up front. Jeff Garcia is mobile enough to get away from any pressure to complete passes. Garcia is able to step up in the pocket with ease.

That has to stop if Dallas is to win.

You're correct our defense, and coach Mike Zimmer are a complete embarrassment to this team.

I want to blame Zimmer -- and I largely do -- but I also wonder: he blitzes, no one gets to the quarterback; he doesn't blitz, and the quarterback has all day to throw. I don't understand how so many "talented" players are absolutely incompetent to pressure the opposing QB.

The defense would have to improve 100% just to be poor. The players are being manhandled on the field and the coaches are being embarrassed by their opponents on the sideline.

TO both ways? Sounds good but I'm worried about his injured hand. OK, safety is ok, but no rushing the passer.

Sneak TO Blitz??

Why with 8 seconds left and no timeouts would you allow any completion on the sideline. Even 25 yds down the middle gets them nothing.

Does Zimmer not what a blitz is? Why are we just sitting back in a passive zone and only trying to rush 4. We need to attack at the line more. If we send more than they can block we will disrupt the eagles offensive flow and may actually force a punt.

Please, can someone tell me who is responsible for thinking, "ok 'boys, we're on national t.v, the only game on this afternoon, in front of 60 + millions people....let's wear our ugliest uniforms we have"! What is the point of this?

The main problem is the cowboys do not have an aggressive defensive coach. Zimmer plays it safe, has good statistics, but loses games. To get to the Super Bowl he has to go.

Unfortunately the same defense came out from the locker room!

These are about the most uninspired players I have ever witnessed. Pathetic to watch.

Looking like another defensive draft this year...

The Boys can hang it up for this season. The defense is awful. No matter who they face on the road in the first round, expect a blowout. The Eagles are toying with this team. They love to get blown out in nationally televised games.
