Jean-Jacques Taylor suggests Jerry should end this whole charade by naming himself head coach. Make sure to read the last paragraph before getting too bent out of shape. I'm frightened Jerry might not make it that far before calling a press conference. |

I think JJ should grab a whistle, he has all the answers.

I've been posting this on the blog, so JJT should give me a little credit somewhere.
Jerry Jones will never stop interfering with the team and he'll never learn until he tries it himself. He's the ultimate backseat driver. No coach, not even Parcells, could truly command the respect of the players, because they'll all go crying to Jerry if the coach hurts their feelings.
Just drive the darn car yourself, Jerry!

I wish the NFL could do with Jones like baseball did with Steinbrenner way back and force Jerry to either sell the team or else severely limit his contact with it's coaches.

I could suffer through a year of JJ coaching if it meant it would knock him down a peg or ten. A humbled Jones stepping down as GM, butting out of coaching/non-owner decisions, and staying off the sidelines would be a positive aftermath.

This is played out. Been a running joke ever since Switzer.

Maybe Jock is upset that he isn't getting interviewed. You guys and your thirst for blood.

JJ is giving Jerry a bum rap. He has made some dumb moves, sure. But he won 3 Super Bowls and worked with Parcells to build the team we have now which I think is not that far away. Like him or not he wants to win just like all of us.

This could be more realistic than many of us would prefer. Jerry's comments in the past concerning the head coaching spot for the Cowboys, coupled with Parcells' ultimate failure during his tenure (remember, it's all about wins and losses), all that along with Jerry's sense of football knowledge we could see him on the sidelines in a more than second half temporary role. At this point, could he do any worse than Parcells?

Hey J.J, What you been doin'?
You say your teams brokedown the thing just ain't movin'.
Hey J.J, Don't you know?
When you're down there's just one way to go.
C'est La Vie, C'est La Vie! That's life!
That's just the way it goes.
You're the next head coach!

Thanks, JJT. I now have something to line my birdcage with.

Why is JJT such a crybaby? I swear, it's all negative, nothing positive, nothing even constructively critical. Nothing seems good enough for this guy. Jerry's thinking is flawed, Parcells is a failure, Rangers stay away from Sosa, Zimmer's departure is the biggest catastrophe since the Hindenburg... does anyone else ever get tried of hearing his "wah, wah, wah?"
Posted by Bradley @ 9:37 AM Tue, Jan 30, 2007
I'd love to see him coach and FAIL miserably! Maybe then will he put his pathetic ego aside and hire a real GM.

I dunno... they say coaching in the NFL makes you age 10 times faster... and with Jerry already looking like Frankenstein, what would he look like at the end of the season?

Nobody cares more about the Cowboys winning, say what we will about Jerry. I don't know why we're so sure it's such a bad idea. Coordinators would have their say, and every coach in that room would know exactly who they're accountable to. But I think it may be to his credit that he recognizes he doesn't have the focus required to do just that one role, especially now with the stadium being built. If he's honest enough to recognize someone else must wear that hat (and headset), then more power to him. But I don't think it's such a terrible idea, given the right coordinators.
Plus, wouldn't it be wonderful to imagine the ways Danny-boy would try to one-up him at FedEx field??

How about JJ for FG holder?
Posted by BMac @ 12:59 PM Tue, Jan 30, 2007
I heard Jerry was trying to talk Barry Switzer to come back for one more year, and then go after Bill Cower after he has rested up for a year.
Posted by Chris @ 1:21 PM Tue, Jan 30, 2007
I think JJT is the only reporter with the GUTS to tell it like it is! The crybabies are the bloggers that only want Yes-Men and Brainless Cheerleaders. Jerry, i.e. the Cowboys, hasn't done anything great in 10 years, and he has gone through 3 of the 500 coaches, so why is anyone saying he's done just fine?
That being said, I like Jerry, I really like JJT, so you Rah-Rah Crybabies need to grow thicker skin. Jerry has, and he's fine with the dialogue and publicity.
Posted by Brad @ 1:46 PM Tue, Jan 30, 2007
It doesn't take guts to constantly find fault with what others do. It doesn't even take brains. Constructive criticism would be one thing, but this is just knee-jerk nay saying.

This is the third article in a series of pointless venom JJT has spit out. JJT how about offering us your suggestions as to who should be the next head coach instead of telling us how horrible Parcells was, how the process of selection is flawed, and Jerry should coach. I used to enjoy your columns but, I'm presently troubled that you have gone to the dark side of the force.

Alas, the Unwashed Masses! The difference between Genius and Stupidity is that there is a limit to Genius. You're Genius, JJT...just over certain heads.
