Brad Townsend reports that Bill Parcells put something in the trunk of his Lincoln Town Car before hitting the road. Alas, Brad wasn't close enough to identify the item. Perhaps it was Jerry's dignity. Any other guesses? |

perhaps it was his ego! after the past four years, it would fit in the trunk of a honda civic.

really. you are crossing the line into irrelevance and possibly worse. try to keep it relevant and leave the guy alone for goodness sake.

Jerry's missing football knowledge maybe.

A big bag of cash!!

Ooooo, sounds eerily similar to the suitcase scene from Pulp Fiction. Perhaps it’s all the money Jerry paid for the 34-32 record and two playoff appearances and losses. Thanks Bill!

What I don't understand the most is why Bill's still sticking around for a week. Is this thing really over or is Bill going to take another post with the Cowboys (a.k.a. VP of Player Personnel)? Maybe he's helping JJ bring in the next head coach while also finding jobs for the remaining coaches on the new staff or with other teams. If Bill were completely done, he'd be leaving the building and not coming back. Something's just not right. JJ's not dumb or overconfident enough to be caught flat-footed here right?
Bill's statement said he was done being a coach...not done with the NFL. And does Jerry have another coach ready by Wednesday or so to be named? Time will tell. If he doesn't, this is the dumbest JJ's looked since turning his back on the other JJ...Jimmy Johnson.

Maybe it was T.O's popcorn.

Wonder if he was checking the tide patterns in the San Francisco Bay before leaving to "go fishing". Anyone heard from Jerry lately?!?....

Jerry Jones not overconfident enough to be caught flat-footed? So long as Jones is alive and coherent, he will never give up the General Manager title, and I doubt Bill will be a VP of Personnel, for this club anyways. This is kneejerk perhaps, but prepare for another decade of mediocre to five-win season football, Cowboy fans. Jerry is here to stay.
If only we could hire Don Nelson. sigh

It was the suitcase from Pulp Fiction. It contains Jerry's soul.

I think the fact that Parcells is sticking around this week signifies that there wasn't a contract dispute with Jerry. If there were one, I doubt Parcells would want to do all of this tying-up of loose ends.

Maybe it was Tim MacMahon's journalistic professionalism

T.O.'s body.

Maybe it was Matt Mosley. Has Bill done away with Mr. M for all those smart-aleck posts on this blog?

I can't believe everyone is reacting so negatively to Parcells quitting. He was finished, look to the future.

Probably his supply of annointing oil.

Probably Jerry's five superbowl trophies from his office.

Must have been his fat suit...I mean c'mon...what male human being could have a body shaped like that for REAL!?!?

It was the fiddle he played while Romo and the 'boys burned.

If it was bigger than an index card it couldn't have been the playbook. It could have been the empty jewelry box he bought for all his new SB rings. Or his old rolodex of assistant coaches no longer employed anywhere. Or a Cowboys hoodie for a fishing trip with new-old buddy Belichik, sleeves cut off, of course.

It was his autographed "Ray Finkle" portrait, the one with the missing superbowl ring!
