While waiting to hear exactly what Jason Garrett's role will be, let's all breathe a sigh of relief that Jerry didn't have a nostalgic senior moment when hiring an ex-QB that wore No. 17 for the Cowboys. If you thought discipline was a problem in the Barry Switzer days, just imagine if Quincy Carter got in control. |

When you talked about nostalgia and 17, I thought at first you meant Don Meredith...

Or Dandy Don Merideth for that matter.

garrett is a great hire as an OC, but he is not strong willed enough to keep 81 in line. Wade Phillips will also be unable to deal wth 81! If they want to keep 81 on a leash they better get Gruden or Singletary as a head coah b/c otherwise 81 is going to run our team

Awfully quiet this morning......What is happening at Valley Ranch? I thought you guys were supposed to give us the scoop.

Jason Garrett?
Jason Garrett??
How great were the Miami QBs last season???

That was an unnecessary and cruel jab. I like Galloway's take better: give a guy a helping hand who has been knocked down. Maybe you could help him turn his life around with your words instead of contributing to his problems.

that's a stretch for a laugh... come on, I know you've got the good stuff, share it!

That comment was completely unnecessary.

That's a number the Cowboys should have retired.

I hope they make Garrett the head coach. The more I read about him, the more he sounds like the one.

Getting some conflicting signals. They have denied permission to other clubs to speak with Sparano, begging the question would be be the OC under Garrett or demoted with Garrett as the OC? They also have asked to speak with Wade Philips... Confusion at the Ranch?

Wasn't Don Meredith #17 as well? Hmmm... 2 of the 3 #17s were admitted marijuana users (Remember Don's line on MNF "We're a mile high and so am I.") Let's hope JG doesn't falling in line with the other two.
Not that I don't think Dandy Don was a great guy. Probably the most entertaining and personable quarterback Dallas has ever had.

yeah, but wouldn't you love for a minute if the REAL no. 17 were head coach? Who wouldn't smile at seeing old Dandy Don in a sheepskin coat on a frosty sideline, no headset, yelling at the QB (no covering his lips with a laminated playsheet), hands in his pockets, to get in the huddle and think for himself and call a play with the people he's got?

So, um... Isn't it kinda weird that if the Cowboys hire a head coach other than Jason Garrett, they're telling him who's on his staff?

Why the heck was Parcells interviewing Garret? Is he going to be the GM? He did say he was retiring from "coaching football."

Man where did they find this Timmy Mac? He needs an assistant hopefully one with a good sense of humor to assist with his comedy.
