The Glenn fumble

I have received a lot of e-mails on this today, so I thought I'd try to set the record straight a little bit.

The play called by the coaches was a run from the Dallas 2, but the offense has an automatic quick throw to the side when a safety comes into the box and the corner plays off, as Kelly Jennings was doing.

So Tony Romo made the safe throw the flat in hopes of picking up 4-5 yards. It's much like a run, but Glenn slipped before he could get going and Jennings made a good play.

And to the people who wanted Parcells to kick the field goal on third down - why? They were going for the touchdown or a first down at the least. They get 6 points there and the Seahawks have to score a touchdown. They get the first down, Seattle is forced to call its timeouts. Parcells would've taken his chances with the Seahawks having to get down the field for a field goal - into the wind by the way - with no timeouts.

Personally, after the ball was respotted at the 1 1/2 yard line, I would've gone for it on 4th down. Romo could have just QB sneaked forward (or Barber could have snuck through) and gotten the half yard for the first down, and then they have at least a couple of more chances to try for the TD with their timeouts. With the way their secondary has played, I think giving the ball back to the Seahawks with only a two-point lead and a minute and a half is a recipe for disaster anyway (even assuming he hits the FG).

You prove my point too. The game was not over after the muff (that romo choked). Had the defense held the seahwaks they have to punt from their end zone with about 45 seconds left. We get the ball with 38 seconds around the 40, assuming we have no return. We quit - that is coaching.

Sam: It's the nfl not madden 07 nor is it the tostitos bowl which = not for long if you risk a play win on a 4 down play at the 1.5 instead of a potentially game winning field goal.

Accidents happen. What isn't acceptable is not challenging pete hunter deep at some point in the game.

Coaching decision - that's right!. I would have attempted to kick a field goal at third down just in case there was a botched scenario. In this case, there was. I mean, season was on the line, just be conversative. Or, try to attempt a pass to the corner pylon and let T.O. "jumped-ball" it, but instead Romo passed to Witten at about 4 yard-line. Go figure. Coaching decision- that's right!

Since it was a forward pass and Glenn used the ball to gain his balance (the ball touched the ground), why was this a completion????

Personally I don't a call of this type on the 1-2 yard line....the hitch pass...too many things can go wrong with absolutely no margin for error...and was there ever error. The Glenn fumble cost us 2 points and gave Seattle great field position with the ball inside of the 50 yard line...couple plays later and that decision turned into an 8 point turnaround in the game...and you guys think it was Romo that cost us the game? Give me a break.

The Glenn fumble was THE play that lost it for the Boys.

BTW...If I'm Roy Williams, I'm buying Romo a steak dinner as a thank you for denying me (Roy) the opportunity of getting toasted (again) by the Seahawks on their way to the winning field goal.
