The Cowboys, as expected, hired Ray Sherman to coach the wide receivers. Also, John Garrett, the older brother of staff member Jason, has been hired to coach the tight ends.

If John Garrett is like his brother in terms of football knowledge, it is a good hire. Don't know if Ray Sherman is a good hire, though. Did Tennessee's wideouts do well last season? It looks like we have some good coaching talent being hired, so who knows, we might be pretty good next season!

While it's all fine and dandy to want to work with people you are familar with (i.e., friends and family), I have never been a big fan of rampant nepotism. Jerry hires Stephen, Wade hires Wes, Jason says "Hey, what about my bro?" Great. Hope they know how to coach.

Or maybe I'm just jealous and bitter because no one in my family ever gave me a leg up.Yeah, that's probably it.

I think Sherman was a good hire. Yeah, the Titans WRs aren't setting the NFL on fire or anything, but they're not bad. They had a first-year QB last year who only threw for just over 2,100 yards and Drew Bennett, their starting WR, was a former QB. I think he did pretty well with what he had to work with.

Hey JB, don't judge Sherman based on last season's wide receiver production. They had a rookie QB who ran as much as he passed, and when he did pass, was not the greatest. Sherman has great credentials prior to Tennessee.

Why bother to continue to search? The organization should simply hire the entire Phillips and Garrett family tree. When did the taboo against nepotism become obsolete?

When I asked how well the titains's wide outs did last season, I didn't know how well they did. So I was just asking.

Nepotism is alive and well in the NFL. I believe Marty Schotenheimer just got fired for trying to hire his brother Kurt ! Ofcourse nepotism doesn't always have to be bad. Stephen Jones is the Capologist for Dallas and the Cowboys are 20 mill under the cap. So he must be doing something right.
I'm more concerned with who our new OC and DC will be. Any guess's ?? Looks like Wade's holding off Jerry's recommendation of Todd Bowles and Jason Garrett for now. I'm surprised Jerry hasn't appointed Joe Avazzano as Special Teams coach. Anyone know if Hudson Houck is available to coach the OL ??

Ray Sherman.. as there WR’s Coach.. I like it !! He has been the WR coach for Jerry Rice, John Taylor, Art Monk, Andre Rison, Randy Moss, Chris Carter, Javon Walker, Donald Driver, Antonio Freeman, Terry Glenn, Those Houston Oilers WR's - he knows the Run & Shoot, The West Coast Offense, and the 3 digit Offense.

So I am happy with the choice.. because T.O. can't look at him and be like who has he coached ??
