The Cowboys are still talking with the agent for starting right tackle Marc Colombo. Money is also a factor and Colombo is looking at a Leonard Davis type money but won't get it from the Cowboys or on the open market. Dallas values Colombo but can't wait forever on him to make a decision. Kenyon Coleman has left the Cowboys for the New York Jets. The New York Daily News reports Coleman signed a five-year deal worth $20.5 million with $6 million guaranteed. That was too rich for the Cowboys for a backup defensive lineman.

sign the 3 for $12M & $6M guranteed. Lets move on from this plot.

This Colombo thing is driving most of us fans nutts! CALVIN, I would sure like you to elaborate a little bit on your info about Colombo looking for Leonard Davis Money. A longer term contract, sure, I can believe that, but I cant believe, maybe I dont want to believe, he thinks one season of starting qualifies him for that kind of money. ELABORATE PLEASE. Have not heard this anywhere else.

$6 million guaranteed for Coleman, you have got to be kidding me. Not bad for a backup and a mediocore one at that.

Shades of Marcellus Wiley--except way more expensive.

This Columbo stuff is really ticking me off. Listen, everybody has to get what they can, but give me a freakin break(1yr wonder). I think he knows his legs aren't going to last, and wants to cash in while he can. He's had major nerve damage, huge RED FLAG for all teams. He needs to poop or get off the pot. At this point, I don't really care what he does.

Still keeping my fingers crossed we can keep Colombo! I really don't want Davis playing tackle for us.

The Boys are a better team with Colombo resigned. Hopefully he and Steven Jones will reach a fair agreement soon.
Coleman was agood player, but we have others to fill his spot, because of Big Bill.
Get Colombo signed, and work hard on the upcoming draft; Wade, Stephen, and Jerry. Please?

I'm with Brent - I don't want 'Big' Davis at right tackle. I seem to recall Parcells and company feeling confident they could blow past Leonard Davis when playing Arizona last year. I even questioned if that guy lost it. Now that he's been inked, keep him at guard. Meanwhile, Colombo's solid and paying dividends for prior coaches' patience with him. I hope they get him signed. Coleman was really 'just a guy', but ever since he came here from Oakland, I was always waiting for him to break out and become a threat.

Colombo is a dangerous signing for big money. Not enough experience. I would say a good incentive laden deal would be good. Give him some now and if he shines, pay him a lot more. Make hime work for it and reward him if he is good.

Hey congrats to Coleman for getting so much. I'm just glad we didn't pay him that much. I still think we need to make a move on Robaire Smith, the DT/NT from Tennessee. I think he'd be a perfect rotation guy with Big Ferg.
