Hall of Fame scribe Rick "Goose" Gosselin writes that the RB crop drops off drastically after the two studs who will be off the board by the time the Cowboys pick. This isn't a need position for the Cowboys -- unless, of course, they pull the trigger on a trade shipping starter Julius Jones out of town. Louisville's Michael Bush is a guy who could be an unbelievable steal in the second day of the draft. Goose wrote recently about the horrific broken leg that ended Bush's college career, so there is obviously a humongous question mark hanging over his head. But he's 6-1, 243 pounds and athletic enough to have been a phenomenal high school basketball player in Kentucky, a state that takes hoops awfully seriously. |

Bush is a steal and will be off the board by the end of the first day...probably 3rd round, most likely no later than Atlanta, but maybe someone gets itchy and jumps up after the middle of the second...If Atlanta trades down in the 2nd or 3rd, Bush is the target...he is the second best back in the draft and very close in ability to AD...

It would be interesting to know if the Cowboys have done any extra medical checkups on Bush. Feel free to come back with that bit of homework.

I would be shocked if Atlanta doesn't grab him on the first day because of Bobby Petrino's familiarity with him. If he is stil there on day 2 and Dallas grabs him, it would be the biggest draft day steal of a RB since we got Herschel Walker in the 5th round back in 1985.
