The best things in life are Free

Thank your lucky stars that Northern Illinois OT Doug Free decided not to give up football in high school to work on a dairy farm. He's the Cowboys' second fourth-rounder.

He's 6-7, 318 pounds and agile, so he might be a better fit at left tackle than third-round pick James Marten, who played on both sides at Boston College.

Wonder how Pat McQuistan feels about the Cowboys' draft so far.

With his speed, betcha Free will be a guard.

Over/Under cowboys take 3 more OT?? Everyone remember how well the 'if you take a bunch at least one should pan out' theory used with the CB's Goodrich, Larrimore and Edwards in 2000??

good pick. I said last year that we should spend all of our picks on OL bc we looked so bad. We fixed that with Davis in FA and now in the draft. We are good now if injuries occur, if Rivera is cut (retires) and if Flozel leaves next year. Also, we need as many big guys as possible for McFadden to run behind next year!! Only thing we are missing is a CB now, and I would suggest that Jerry package a 6th and a 7th, move up into the 5th round and get the best CB possible.

Basically screwing the Giants the whole way

McQuistan, Marsten, and now Free. with these prospects pushing each other in practice the Cowboys are bound to get one of them to become a quality player. COmpetition like this is always a good thing.

Free looks like the future left tackle. Marten may be the one moving to guard because he has experience playing all positions on the line. Besides, Free has better feet than Marten. Is it just me or are the Cowboys try to draft the Steelers of old? Pass rusher, Slash-type players, and loading up the OL. If they are, that would be alright. Where are the CB's and WR's though?

I am brutally pumped... Doug Free is from my hometown of Manitowoc, WI. I jumped straight through the roof when I saw the call. His parents live less than five miles from me...I'm going to drive past waving my Cowboys flag like nuts!!!

I bet our underwhelming group of safeties feel pretty darn good about the draft so far.

Marten & Free can play Tackle & Guard.

Waht happened to the trade of Julias Jones for a mid-round pick?
