The other draft

We talked about this the other day about the Cowboys work in free agency after the draft. Last year it netted them receivers Sam Hurd and Miles Austin. So far this year the Cowboys have come to terms with Oregon State quarterback Matt Moore, Florida center Steve Rissler, Oregon linebacker Blair Phillips and Boise State receiver Jerard Babb.

Moore is interesting. He started his career at UCLA before transferring. He was also a baseball player, having been drafted by the Angels, so he's got that going for him, which is nice.

I like the undrafted FAs we picked up. Matt Moore and Blair Phillips will probably make the team. Also, I like Jackie Battle. Jerry is still adding good pieces to the team.

Todd is there a place to find out all of the free agent signings today?

Not bad thus far - I still have Walter Thomas #1 on my wish list for NT. If not him, Quintin Echols might work - Alonzo Coleman and Ryan Moore should be on the radar as well.

In my estimation Moore will someday be a starter in the NFL. This is a great free agent pick-up but I wonder why they didnt just draft him with their last #7 instead of a DB who has no chance of making the team. Moore was no sure thing to sign in free agency. I hear about a dozen teams were interested.

Is this the complete list as of 3:00 PM eastern time? I read that they signed more than this.

Got to see the 2 local players plenty this year. Matt Moore is Drew Bledsoe with out the accuracy or mobility, if that's possible. Being a Duck homer I love getting Phillips. You guy's have been killing Stanback, sure he may have been picked earlier then neccesary but this guy is crazy athletic and tough. That husky team was awful. Got a feeling all you haters will be changing your tune once you see this guy move. Remember there's plenty of good ball, especially offensively being played outside the big 10

I like the way the Cowboys use the UFA. They've done pretty well in this regard. I expect one to three exciting prospects come out. The Cowboys, I think, were trend setters in this regard.

Ron Jawarski was practically begging anyone to draft Moore on the second day. He had a good video analysis of his mechanics and decision making. The guy looks like an NFL player. He put up great numbers when you factor the talent around him both at UCLA at the time and at OSU. He was the second leading passer behind Matt Lienard in the PAC-10.

Being from Montana I have to comment on Mike Jefferson signing. He was a drop down transfer from Arizona that has good speed and play making ability. He scored five touchdowns against Idaho State last year and had over 240 yards receiving in that game. He also had a solid game in our win over Colorado. He could be a contributor on special teams right away.

Moore is great athletically, but i think that he may have trouble with the mental game. I have had a few classes with him at OSU and he is one of the least intelligent people that i have ever seen. Piscatelli on the other hand is crazy athletic and has a brain, too bad we didnt need another saftey

Im Lovin the addition of runningback ALONZO COLEMAN dont sleep on him he's a powerhouse. he should have bn drafted early mark my words this kid is gona b somthin

Alonzo Coleman is the real deal. This kid has all the gifts necessary. The did not throw to him much but why throw to him when he can carry it into the endzone. Don't forget all he did as a freshman is take the senior runningbacks job and tally over 1300 yds and meac player of the year 3 years and break every record a running back had at hampton with an inferior front line.
HE IS GOING TO SHOCK THE WORLD. ALONZO COLEMAN ROOKIE OF THE YEAR!
