Todd Archer says Drew Bledsoe should be remembered for being a class act, not for his shortcomings as a Cowboys quarterback. |

"He played hard. He played hurt. He believed – and probably still does – he was the best guy for the job." Probably true... but, if you're a statue standing back there with an o-line incapable of protecting you, Drew, then the coach had no choice but to replace you with someone who could... at the very least... run away from the fat guys trying to kill him!
No doubt in my mind Bledsoe is/was a stand-up guy. Character-wise, I cannot recall him ever saying, or doing anything disparaging against his team, or anyone else in the league. Nor do I recall anyone ever doing, or saying anything disparaging against him. His statistics tell his story of success in the NFL. You did good, Drew, and thanks for being a damn fine Cowboy!

Drew seemed to be a real good guy and was a good QB for more than a few years, especially with the Patriots. He helped take them out of the dumbster and into the limelight leading them to SB XXXI. However, over the past 5 or so seasons, Drew has been nothing but an average, immobile QB with an inability to prepare each week to anticipate D's and open receivers. In my opinion, he should have retired after his stint in Buffalo.
Good luck, health and happiness in the future for you, drew, and yours.

Yeah drew was a great player as an Nfl Quarterback and as a cowboy. I hope he really think its time for him to retire cause i believe he still got at list 2 years left in him.

Bledsoe - good guy, decent person - terrible QB - wooden, couldn't read a defense, no play-action capability, inevitable INT at the goal line - I'll miss seeing his mistakes, they were always laughable - Dallas was the perfect place for him - idiot owner, over-the-hill coach, 2 problem child WR's - he is a good guy stuck with a bunch of jerks while his skills became non-existant - see ya

I'll remember the way he came off the bench after Brady went down to lead the Patriots to a playoff win during their first Super Bowl run. Even after losing his job because of an injury he was always prepared to play, and it helped launch the legend that is Tom Brady.

I have already commented on why he shouldn't be acknowledged. And, I'll briefly repeat them: Statuesque, Sacked alot, and through way too many interceptions in the direction of one player (not TO). May have been unselfish externally to the media, but what counts is behind closed doors: two faced. Personally, I don't like TO, but at least he isn't two-faced, and what you see is what you get.
As for Bledsoe, he'll have to live with the fact two QB's knocked him off the game pedestal and did great things for which he could not. He'll have the rest of his life to think about that one, and that's punishment enough.
