Tim...THANK YOU! This sounds more like it. Coverage on the Cowboys blog, about the Cowboys. How refreshing. I do have a story line I'd like someone to do some undercover work on. Do any of Greg Ellis" teammates get tired of the "whining? I doubt anyone will go on record in the negative, but maybe "off the record." This guy seemed to good to be true for most of his career and suddenly he acts like a fifth grader. I wonder how the other players feel.

Can the OL pass protect ?

Competition of the young receivers and running backs(Battle and Coleman) are the most interesting to me. The less T.O. coverage the better.
As a matter of fact, coverage of all the rookies carries a lot of interest.

I went to the Alamo Dome and watched training camp with BP, and I'm anxious to see the type of camp that Philips runs. I could see the defense improving tremendously with the read/react philosophy in the trash can, but I'm curious about the offense---can't be as conservative as BP, but "The Redball Express" scares me a lil' as OC, almost to risky as a player sometimes.

How about an update on Stanback's injury? When can we expect to see him out on the practice field? Who will be returning kicks - Thompson who looked good until he got injured, or Austin who returned a kick for a touchdown (for the first time in what seems like years!) in the playoff game against Seattle?

EDITOR'S NOTE: Stanback is running and cutting full speed and hopes to participate in some individual drills this week. He won't be involved in team drills until training camp.

Tim, thanks a ton! There has never been another DMN writer bringing the news as much as you have. Love all the blog updates on OTA's and mini-camps. I can't wait to see all the info you'll have when training camp starts.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Uh, oh ... this is gonna turn into a lovefest for my famous predecessor.

If Julius Jones has big year (hahahahaa), why would the Cowboys not resign him and hang him out for trade bait? IMO that would almost be like paying for a draft pick, or a quality pass rushing specialist(hahahahahaaa). Only so much you can tell until the pads go on and even then that's not a for sure indicator until gameday but I'd be interested to know what those late round CB's look like in practice. A. Henry is a good CB when healthy, he's just sems to hardly EVER be healthy.

Could you tell us how Miles Austin does. I always hear he has potential, and he is definitely a good returner. But how good is he really as a receiver? It would be great if you would take note of how he does in his route running, separation, and his hands. Much appreciated.

Parcells praised Jamaica Rector after last year's training camp saying he was the strongest guy on the team and had the best hands. Rector has to feel it's now or never for a NFL career. Ask him what he did in the off-season to put himself in the best possible position to compete this year and what he feels he has to do to earn the confidence of Phillips and Garrett.
