*First-round pick Anthony Spencer had the play of the day -- a leaping interception after pulling up on the pass rush. It was just like DeMarcus Ware's Pick 6 against the Falcons, except Tony Romo rolled to his right. *Safety Keith Davis picked off a couple of Brad Johnson's passes, including a spectacular leaping grab on a flag route. His other pick came on a post in the end zone. *Johnson's arm strength continues to amaze, and not in a good way. Perhaps he should take the long sleeves and sweats off. I'll make an excuse for him and say he's wearing down in the Texas heat. *Aaron Glenn intercepted a Romo pass intended for T.O., jumping a curl route on the sideline. *Terence Newman also had a pick and a couple of nice pass breakups. In case you can't tell, the secondary as a whole had a pretty good practice. *The prettiest offensive play of the morning was a Romo-to-Jason Witten touchdown pass on a flag route. Witten ran the same route to the other side on the next play, but the ball bounced off his fingertips. If T.O. had been the target, I'd call it a drop. |

With Keith Davis, Hamlin, and Watkins going for one safety spot, who will eventually win the starting spot?
And why is anyone surprised about Brad Johnson's lack of arm strength. He stunk last season with the Vikings.

Get back to me when Biscuit makes a pick. Or at least prevents a touchdown.

From Tim:
"Johnson's arm strength continues to amaze, and not in a good way"
As I indicated in an earlier post, now I am very concerned about the boys "backup" QB. I would hate to think, if Romo goes down for a few games, that the season will go in the dumper with Brad "noodle arm" Johnson taking the reins.
The more vertical, down the field offense appears to work just the opposite of what this guy can do. This ain't gonna be a dink and dunk offense. I'm thinking the boys need to go out and find someone who is a better 2nd stringer for Jason Garrett's offense. It appears they made a huge mistake here. Wouldn't it be a fine pickle if the season rested on this guys arm. Hell, at least Bledsoe could make the throws.

Relax, Larry. Dallas has Cleveland's 1st round pick next year. We don't need no steenking non-Hispanic quarterbacks to screw up merchandise sales. Maybe Jones could sign Jeff Garcia and pander to whole new market.

Hey, Daunte may soon be available! Yeah I know....
Right now, though, I can't help but be a little concerned with Garrett's timing-based offense and the quick reads/throws that Tony will have to almost blindly throw. Thrust me, I'm in Tony's corner, but I think the potential for him to have a higher interception ratio is getting greater...if the number of picks in the OTAs are any indication. But again, to quote the immortal words of AI, "we are talkin PRACTICE!" I'm cool...just saying.
