ESPN.com's Eric Karabell breaks down the Cowboys' fantasy potential and projects Marion Barber and T.O. as third-round picks. He figures Julius Jones, Tony Romo, Terry Glenn and Jason Witten will be off the board after eight or 10 rounds. If you're in a league around these parts, bump all the round projections for Cowboys up a bit. There's always a blue-and-silver wearing homer who picks Cowboys too early. But two Cowboys will be major bargains in my league, where you can keep up to three guys in the round in which they were drafted the previous season. Barber and Romo both went somewhere in the teens, so unless their owners are even dumber than I thought (and one is a real moron), they'll be keepers. I'll do my best not to beat you down with talk about my fantasy team during the season. You will get a Full Fantasy Disclosure before each game, featuring the Cowboys and opponents that are starting for me or my foe that week. I figure it's best to reveal my biases. |

I was thinking with 3 more weeks of dead time, and now ya'll are able to talk to them, you guys at the DMN could breakdown the new coaches. Has John Garrett coached any worthwhile TE's in his career? We know Ray Sherman has coached the likes of Randy Moss but who else is on his resume? Will Jason Garrett be helping to call plays from the sideline or up in the booth? What about the man (Brian Stewart) that Wade bent over backwards to bring on board?
EDITOR'S NOTE: Good idea, but I'd rather go on vacation.

Great post, Tim. Sadly, this is the first mention of fantasy football for the News. This means all the rest of us holding drafts this weekend have to rely on rankings from other sites.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Why in the world are you holding a draft in July? You've got to do it just before the season starts, so the idiots in your league overreact to exhibition games.

Why should fantasy football even be a topic on this Blog? The mere mention of it biasing your real-world comments calls into question your value as a Journalist-in-Training.

Mr. MacMahon,
I enjoy your articles and read them most everyday. I would like to invite you to read some of mine on nflgridirongab.com and if you're interested, maybe we could trade links. That's if you like what you read, go to some of the team sites once you're there and specifically, the Cowboys for my articles. Thanks alot and keep up the good work!

Ok, that's it for me. Too much Saint Jimmy for my taste.
Too much of earnest and his insulting posts. This isn't comedy central. Would the last one to leave please TURN OFF THE LIGHTS?
EDITOR'S NOTE: Would you stick around if I posted about Brady Quinn more often?!

Wasn't there a Tom T. Hall song called
"ernest t, Saint Jimmy, and Me"?

BTW, homer bias has skewed things quite alot. In my league, Tony Romo was the #4 overall pick, the 1st QB off the board, and ahead of all but LT, SJack, and Larry Johnson. :O
