There seems to be some consternation by some about the lack of "two-a-days" in the Cowboys' training camp time in San Antonio. Of the 15 days they will call the Alamodome home, the Cowboys are scheduled to have six double sessions. So I looked back at last year's training camp schedule to compare. Of the 23 days the Cowboys called Oxnard, Calif., home, they had nine double sessions. Of those nine, six came before the Cowboys' first pre-season game, or the same amount of two-a-days they have before playing Indianapolis in this year's pre-season opener. Last year, the Cowboys had eight straight days of work before Bill Parcells gave them a day off. Under Wade Phillips' schedule, the Cowboys do not have a day off until after they play the Colts. And remember this: while the Cowboys will return to Valley Ranch after playing the Colts, training camp does not end. They will have more two-a-days at the Ranch, but the practices just won't be open to the public. |
