Backup QB Brad Johnson shrugged off a question yesterday about whether he throws so many check-down passes to hide his weak arm. "I just make the right decisions," Johnson said. That wasn't the case last season, according to ESPN.com's K.C. Joyner. The "Football Scientist" watched film of every single interception thrown last season and separated them into different categories for his Insider column. Per Joyner, Johnson had 10 interceptions in the Bad Decisions category last season. Ben Roethlisberger (13) and Rex Grossman (10) were the only other guys in double digits. You folks will like the fact that Eli Manning tied Grossman for the most picks thrown due to inaccuracy (7). |

Clearly Joyner needs to have a talk with Hall of Fame scribe Rick "Goose" Gosselin, who will no doubt persuade him, based on two statistical categories, that despite throwing the most interceptions due to inaccuracy, Eli is on the cusp of elite status.

Any idea how Romo's picks broke down?

I wonder how many bad decisions leading to interception were direct results from bad route running by the WRs though? The Vikes WRs were green last year. With the exception of Marcus Robinson which of whom missed most of the season. Brad Johnson was in a bad situation last year. I felt sorry for him.

We moved up here to Northern Iowa last year which is Viking country. One of the first things I learned was that Brad Johnson is known as "Check-Down Charlie" by every Viking fan I've talked to.
