Comparing T.O. to the Playmaker

Wade Phillips made sure to mention Michael Irvin during his press conference this morning.

Assistant coaches Jason Garrett and Wade Wilson talked about the Playmaker during last night's team meeting. Phillips said their stories put into perspective what a hard worker and fiery leader the new Hall of Famer was for the Cowboys' Super Bowl teams.

Philadelphia Inquirer columnist David Aldridge asked Phillips if T.O. has any of those kind of leadership qualities.

"He's certainly an outstanding receiver and a hard worker," Phillips said.

Coach Wade, as T.O. calls the new boss, might just have forgotten to mention what a wonderful teammate No. 81 is.

Michael was on a different level when it came to desire, intensity and leadership. Any comparison in that category is probably always going to tilt in Mike's favor.

While your little jab about being a wonderful teammate is cute, it seems to me that there are a lot of players that like T.O. as a teammate. I also think he share's Irvin's passion for winning, and wish that more of the current players had that passion.

I think comparing TO and Michael is an insult to Michael. Michael had his problems, but not on the field. He outworked all the others, he was dependable when running routes and he made every possible attemt to catch a pass thrown anywhere near him. TO does none of these and shouldn't be mentioned in the same article. Ask Troy what he thinks!

You cant ask Troy what he thinks. Troy never played with him. I am a Cowboy fan and love Michael Irvin. But to say TO doesnt belong in the same article is not right. How do you think TO would have made out with Troy throwing him the football.
