Fans let Phillips down

Wade Phillips' daily press conference was moved to the tent in the north plaza. We had to sit through an announcement about the Built Ford Tough high school player of the week program, for which good ol' Texan boy Wade is serving as a spokesman.

This press conference was open to the public, and Phillips encouraged fans to boo any questions they didn't like.

"It's open season today," Phillips said with a menacing glare toward the meanies in the media.

But it was a boo-free event. Phillips privately (and perhaps jokingly) expressed disappointment with the fans for not following his directions.

To read about what Phillips said during the press conference, please join me after lunch.

This would be a good time for the media to let it go once and for all. If the players don't care, and most of the fans seem okay with the two-back setup considering how well it worked last year, writers just let it play out. I happen to be a big Julius Jones fan who thinks #21 is poised to have a breakout season. He showed more than just flashes his rookie year, and I think that dangerous open field runner is what we'll see in 2007. Marion Barber could start for a lot of teams, and he gives us a real nice change of pace, plus a nose for the goal line. Both young and hungry, Cowboys fans can't go wrong and so they should just enjoy.

Too bad the fans are not "reacting" to Phillips- but then again, we wouldn't have been called Cowboys fans if we would have stood up with the coach huh ? Too bad I couldn't make it...

Is it me or does Wade seem soft and Garrett is buying into it. Like 4 or 5 false starts and breaking the huddle and then re-huddling because they lined up wrong. Both Garrett and Wade are like... that's okay... you expect that this time of year... we need to get into a rhythm. What ever happen to 5 FALSE STARTS ON ONE DRIVE ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!?? WHERE'S THE CROWD NOISE??!! GET DISCIPLINE O-LINE!!! RECEIVERS READ YOUR PLAYBOOK AND KNOW YOUR FORMATIONS!!

Where's the passion? Where's the "We need to execute men"? Hey Wade this is footbal isn't it?

Mike, I'm afraid it's going to be like this the whole year. Buckle your chin strap fellas.

Where's Jimmy when you need him?
