The plan is for Terry Glenn to practice Saturday for the first time since having arthroscopic knee surgery Aug. 1 and start the season opener against the Giants. But Glenn isn't sure he'll be ready to go full speed in a few days. "We'll see," he said while walking to his car after the kickoff luncheon. "Can't say too much about that right now but we'll see." Glenn said he wasn't certain that he'd be ready for the season opener, but "with the grace of God," he'll play against the Giants. He did not sound optimistic that he'd be 100 percent in less than two weeks. "You've got to do training camp to get ready for a season. Unfortunately, I missed it," he said. "I've just got to get back and take everything slow and smooth. Hopefully, I can contribute and help our team win Sunday night." |

There seems to be a disconnect between what Wade Phillips says about all these injuries and the timetable the players feel they are on to recover. Phillips downplays every injury and seems to take a very optimistic and perhaps unrealistic view. I stopped paying attention to his timetables because they are always wrong.

I have a feeling that Terry is reverting back to his old ways(always injured). For some reason he just won't play for anyone other than Parcells.

The guy had his knee scoped for a reason. Not to mention he's 33 years old. Do you want him to play the whole season or not?

I agree with your posts Jason and Kevin,
what the hell is going on here? I must be in a pissed off mood today because everything seems to be stricking me the wrong way.
Wade says he will be fine, that he doesn't need camp being such a seasoned veteran and now Terry says he isn't fine and needed training camp to be ready for the season.
I really like Wade Phillips but I am beginning to wonder if his nice guy ways are beginning to show with guys like Ellis and Glenn.

Wade P. is doing just what he should...keeping the rest of the league at least somewhat in the dark about the status of injured players. I like what some college coaches do...which isn't allowed in the NFL...they only report injuries that are season-ending.

I think all the unclear injury status reports by Wade are great...if we're unclear so are all the other NFL teams looking to get an edge...
