Aaron Glenn is a Jaguar. The veteran cornerback signed with Jacksonville two days after he was cut by the Cowboys. Even though he might not be the player he was last year or in 2005, Glenn was still an asset to the Cowboys. Glenn will still receive $500,000 from the Cowboys this year because that was the guaranteed part of his $1.7 million base salary. So in essence, it's a nice double dip by the former Aggie. |

I sure hope the boys have a plan here. I was certain they would bring Glenn back after the Giant game. I was wrong.
At this point the boys need to go out and make a trade if Oglesby is the best he waiver wire has to offer.
The team has 10 offensive lineman and a full set of draft choices next year to bargain with. With Glenn gone, they gotta find someone at least of his quality to bring in. Oglesby aint it, and neither is Nate Jones.
Newman and Henry are fine and I think J. Reeves will be a decent nickle guy, but they got nothing behind those 3 guys with Glenn gone.

Good Riddance. Who wants someone that short who couldn't cover a Houston Texan TE? Astalavista, BABBY!!!

Once an Aggie, always an Aggie. You're never a former Aggie, please understand this when writing about Texas A&M in the future.

Hey gomer...He can write whatever he wants. Glenn IS a former Aggie. He doesn't play there anymore. Good God you people are psycho. Go file a lawsuit or something nitwit. WHOOOP!!

Larry, another fine post. I'm afraid JJ is back in charge, therein lies the plan. Wade Phillips is his new puppet, and JJ returns as the Puppet Master.

Cutting your third corner when your first corner is hurt and you have little to no depth at a weak position is stupidity at its highest level. The secondary is now even more of a weakness than it was last year. Wade will now know why Parcells wasn't able to blitz.

The folks on this blog amaze me. How many of you spent the last month and a half in every team meeting and disecting game and practice film? Oh, and what teams are you scouts and coaches for? Just because they don't make the moves YOU like doesn't make Wade a puppet. Let's see, 36 yr old, short cornerback costing $1.7mil - if there isn't much difference between him and the young kid - you go with the young kid because of the potential and the savings.
I will agree with the first post on one thing - I think if he was still available - they would have brought him back after the first game. But it is not like they cut a pro-bowler or something. They are the professionals - I'm thinking they know what they are doing.

Talk about a one-trick pony! "Hey, I'm Larry Giusti: Jerry Jones is dumb! Oh boy, I know so much about football I will criticize every single move the Cowboys make." Get over yourself. Hey Larry G., did you like the Terrell Owens pickup last year? I'm guessing when the move was made you took the time to rip JJ. Did you like when Parcells picked up Testaverde, Eddie George, Ryan Young, etc. And next year when we have a top five pick due to Cleveland, remember to bash JJ again. You're ruining this blog and the season hasn't even started yet. You're a total drag and a downer.

You tell him Warden!!!
All these freakin arm chair GM's. It makes for hilarious reading...

I suppose Roy Williams is an "arm chair GM" too. He would have no idea who the third best corner on the team was, right?

Roy Williams is an authority on pass coverage skills? No. Unh-unh. Nope. Not. Never. No way.

Obviously, Aaron Glenn WAS our 3rd best CB. Now someone else is, someone younger, cheaper, taller and with an upside. Remember, SD didn't have the best talent in the secondary and yet they did a pretty good job of "hiding" the coverage schemes. With a better pass rush, the QB will have to get rid of the ball sooner, making the secondary more effective. In the salary cap age, it's just not possible to have quality depth at every position. Maybe the guy we picked up from the Ravens will prove to be better over the long term, ever think of that? It's not like we're an old team, outside of the starting WRs. We may be a year away from actually competing for the SB, but I like us for the division and winning at least one playoff game.

Here's the thing people forget about football. If your secondary can't cover, you can't blitz or bring extra pressure from the second level. Period. If you think Jacques Reeves is the answer, good for you. But I don't.
