We should have an interview with Zach Thomas, the former Texas Tech star, posted some time today if I can ever figure out how to send the audio to the office. This is a new feature we're going to have on DallasNews.com this year. We'll take a player from the opposing team, preferrably with Texas ties, and have a quasi-two-minute drill with him. We might mix in some Cowboys as well. Last week Calvin Watkins had an interview with Tyler's Aaron Ross. We might switch to a Cowboy player if we can't get an opponent. Maybe you guys could help us out with a request for next week's Chicago game. We're not saying we can definitely get who you want, but we'll try. As always, we're here for you. |

See if you can get Danieal Manning for the Bears game.
Originally from Corsicana, he absolutely dominated at DII for the Abilene Christian University Wildcats, and, is the best player since Wilbert Montgomery to come out of that fine institution.
At ACU, Manning was originally a cornerback, but, to keep opponents from throwing away from him he was moved to free safety. Was also unstoppable as a return man as we saw when he took one to the house for the Bears in the preseson.

Glad to see Zack getting some face time. He's one of those guys who was supposed to be too small and too slow, but has ended up among the best at his position. BTW -- what are his odds as far as Hall of Fame? I know guys like Ray Lewis and Jr. Seau probably get in ahead of him, but is there still a chance?

Nathan Vasher, Tommie Harris, or Ced Benson.

Manning would be interesting since it's a guy most of us have never heard of, myself included. I think 'The Dallas Morning American-Statesman' has most UT alumni covered.

I would like to see you interview Roberto Garza, an offensive guard with the Chicago Bears. He's a Texas native, hailing from the southern tip of the state in a town called Rio Hondo, which is just north of Brownsville. The Rio Grande Valley is definitely Cowboys country, so it would be interesting to see how Garza feels about playing against the team he was probably fans of growing up.
