That's what superstar columnist Jean-Jacques Taylor sees. I'm not referring to the weather. It's a gloom-and-doom metaphor for a Cowboys team dealing with injuries to three key veterans and a suspension to the QB coach. (Plenty of reasons to worry, but I still think the Cowboys are 2-0 when they go to Chicago.) |

Wow! Typical "want to be cool" Jean-Jacques, to make a bigger deal out of something then what it really is. What NFL East team does not have problems or concerns to start the season. Anybody predicting a 16-0 season?? All have some early injuries or concerns...JJT still king of drama!!

How awesome would it be if sportswriters were held to these simpleton, gloom and doom predictions. Is there an editor that waits until the end of the season and says "well, JJT, you said they would suck and they won the super bowl, so you're fired."
Oh wait----this is Dallas. JJT sucks.

Who cares what he thinks. He's no superstar, and his opinions are usually wrong when the FACTS are taken into consideration.

Sad as it makes me to say it. I am pretty much in agreement with JJT. I think Dallas will be good, but I don't think they are a SB team this year.
Next year if they draft a good young corner and land D Mac, then I think they are going to be favorites for the SB.
I do disagree a tad with his assessment of Carpenter though. I thought Carpenter did a good job and brought some pressure in the last few games and especially in the playoff game.

Heard an interesting rumor over the weekend...The Cowboys are shopping Spears for a CB. Tim, what are hearing?

Timmy...take to take JJT off the radar. Frenchy isn't wanted here. Let him go play with Newewy Thug..I mean, Scruggs.
As for the Spears rumor, we better get more than an above average CB. So, Artfuldodger, who would you suggest?

How about turning Roy Williams into a corner, then he suck more than he already does?

Pete Hunter, anyone? :)

Shopping Spears for a corner? Who would ditch their GOOD corner for crappy Spears? The guy is perilously close to bust status.

Lowering the expectations bar already for Jerrah and Wade. Nice.
Hey JJT, maybe this is all BP's fault again?

2-0 going into Chicago? Try 1-1 or better yet, 0-2. it is not ging to be pretty in Dallas this year folks. Just be prepared. That game planned win over Denver was the peak of the season for Dallas. Its all downhill from there.

I'm going against the flow a little, but I think the Cowboys will be better in the latter part of the season than early on. The new defense will be more instinctive, the O-line will be working better as a unit, and some of the injuries will be healed. That said, JJ has never been into rebuilding, so we have these 30+ WR's who are going to be prone to injury. Spears may be a bust in Dallas, but would fit as a 2-technique in a 4-3 scheme.
