Fans got tired of hearing Greg Ellis grumbling about his contract. Some of you folks even accused him of faking pain as a form of protest.

Bet you're not hatin' on him now.

Ellis returned from a ruptured Achilles tendon more than a month ahead of the typical timetable. Sure didn't look like it was holding him back much against the Rams. Ellis made 1.5 sacks in limited playing time.

"I think he's back," said Wade Phillips, who presented Ellis with a game ball.

DeMarcus Ware should was pleased to see his pass-rushing partner in uniform again. Ware recorded his third sack of the season and pretty much wreaked havoc all day.

"He's that added pressure that we needed," Ware said. "You can't double two great pass rushers."

We are seeing the beginning of a dominant Defense.

We'll need all the help we can get because we still have to play Brady, Favre, McNabb (twice) and we have the Giants in the Meadowlands and the Redskins twice, so don't eat the cheese folks, it's a long, tough road ahead.

So, I'm looking at San Diego lose to the woeful Chiefs, and I can't help but thank the football gods that we didn't hire Norv Turner.

Welcome back, Mr. Ellis!!

Wohoo! If Henry isn't out too long this could become a really good defense.

Well... Howdy Doody! Mr. Greg is returning to the fold? Excellent! I didn't get to watch today's game, because our local CBS affiliate had both the early game, which starts at 7 am, and the second one, which usually follows around 10 am. Our FOX affiliate only had the second game this week. I could've gone to one of Honolulu's many sports bars and watched our heroes via satellite... and maybe partaken in a few beers at seven o'clock in the morning, but I took my wife golfing at 7 am instead.

So... how was Ellis' play today? Apparently he got a sack-and-a-half. Is he coming back for real now? If so, maybe the 'famed' Phillips 3-4 will finally present itself, and the fear of a Doomsday pass rush will overwhelm opposing offenses henceforth... Let us forever be so watchful... Aloha, y'all!

He is still a sissy, can't wait for Cowboys to release him!

I, for one, never dissed Ellis. Not once throughout camp. In fact, I urged fans to support him. So, I'm pure and worthy, aren't I, Tim? I'm an Ellis fan. He makes a huge difference. Now, watch how much better that pass rush becomes. We will be deadly.

That was the happiest moment of the day for me when GE got into the action. He & Newman really made it feel like the gang is all here finally.

GE will play @ a high level the next 2 years.
Get a modest extension for 2 years & retired as a decorated Cowboys hero.
People will have forgotten his whining & Jerry's stubbornness after we win back to back SuperBowls.

ps: & chrissy - u r still a village idiot & the true sissy here.

From JJT:

Ellis has an insurance policy that allowed him to play four games before deciding whether to retire and collect insurance money for a career-ending injury or continue playing, forfeiting any future claims.

"If things didn't go well today," Ellis said, "what Jerry did was show me that they just weren't going to throw me away like trash."

Perhaps Tim could show some of his own negative posts about Greg Ellis from earlier this year? Its definitely a big deal to our defense him being back!

Flozell gets my vote for a game ball. He committed no penalties. I was at the game and I was just stunned at how he played.

If this wasn't extortion, I don't know what is. Lets call this what it was. "If i don't get what I want, then I will be in pain until I do. How much will anybody bet that if this "deal" would have been struck before today...say...July 25.....that Greg would have been in the starting lineup in game one.
As soon as Spencer gets his game legs...Ellis needs to be traded for a quality player...so that Dallas can get something for him.

Disgusting......

It was definitely extortion. But,it's still good to have him back for our Super Bowl push.
