![]() AP That's what they've dubbed return specialist extraordinaire Devin Hester in Chicago. The Cowboys' locker room is about to open, and Hester could be a hot topic. Some folks will want to talk about the Miami win, but I'm ready to move on to the NFL's showcase game in Chicago. Mat McBriar never asks for my advice, but that won't stop me from suggesting he take a hit on his gross average this week by punting it out of bounds every time. |

Forget about breaking the Vikings all time scoring mark and lets go 16-0 so we can get rid of those old geezer from Miami.

UNRELATED TOPIC....>
HEY GOOSE,
Your obsession with battling the "homer tag", has blinded your objectivity once again! The Cowboys were the stronger, fresher team in the second half. So much for the South Florida heat factor. Great article, Mr. Irrelevant. How about an admission on this blog that you were way off! We'll never get it..
Stop Posting Pls, You are meaningless, abrasive, and antagonistic to the Cowboy Fan. Did I mention irrelevant? Nice pick Goose, stick to your Fantasy league with your Philly cronies.

McBriar needs to think high booming punts for less gross yards and give the Cowboys punt team a chance to force fair catches to help mitigate the Hester factor. There is no sense in helping the Bears inept offense by keeping them off the field. We want Grossman to have to put some long drives together and we can't afford any Hester freebies. This could be the difference in the game.

Anybody else catch on to why they were squibbing the kickoffs everytime? It was a dress rehearsal for Hester. We got a rookie kicking off so lets give him some game practice squibbing it the week before we face the most dangerous return man. Hopefully McBriar eats his Wheeties next Sunday and just booms it out of the endzone everytime.

Hester went crazy everytime he touched the ball .. I expect this weekend he will play some WR and him Bradley and Berrian will Test Dallas DEEP - They have no choice..
if for any game.. Dallas' corners LB's and Safeties have to HURT these WR's.. and NOT hurt Grossman.. Keep Grossman in the game.. I expect alot of 1,2,3 BOMB vs the Cowboys Secondary.. They have to hit, Slam and Hurt these WR's.. and slam Hester if they get there hands on him.. TAKE THE PENALTY !!!

Quote from the article says it all:
"he expects to score every time someone is foolish enough to kick him the football."
Don't let him beat you. Punt the ball out of bounds. If you can't put kickoffs out of the end zone, kick them shorter with more hang time to help with coverage, or even kick those out of bounds.
I like our chances better with giving Grossman the ball at their own 40 to start off every possession than giving Hester a chance to give them momentum.

His kickoff returns next week worry me more than his punt returns especially with some of those VERY short kicks Folk was serving up. The Cowboys' punt return coverage has been much better than the kickoff coverage has.

It amazes me that teams keep giving this guy the opportunity to beat them. Look at how putrid the Bears offense is. How do you give this guy a chance and let Grossman off the hook? If Reeves and Henry can play semi-decent we're golden in this game.

the thought of Hester fielding those 60 yd punts
of McBriar's in the open field is kinda scary...
...maybe McBriar should shoot for the sidelines,
reduce the field on Hester ? Don't kick OB on
purpose, just don't give Hester the entire field
to operate on.

I feared the Bears after I saw the Chargers offense held in check and LT get, what, 27 yards? But after seeing the Chargers run on a flat tire against the Patsies, it looks like that old Norv Turner head coaching magic is back at work. Ergo, the Chargers look bad. The Bears holding the Chargers down while getting beat makes the Bears look even worse. And, heck, even the Texans were capable of whipping the Chiefs, who the Bears had trouble with at times. Bottomline: Cowboys 27, Bears 2.

NO PUNTING, go for it on 4th down every time, grossman cant hurt us

Punt the 'bleeping' ball out of bounds. Every 'bleeping' time.

I like Dan's idea. Just go fit on 4th down every time. We could even make McBriar inactive and put Stanback on the active 45 list.
