T.O. informed us that he was fined "a good chunk of money" for his classic touchdown celebration against the Dolphins. Sheriff Goodell got into T.O.'s pocket for violating the sacred rule against using the ball as a prop. "I'm like Belichick," he said. "I misinterpreted the rules." That, of course, was another good-natured jab at the Spygate controversy. Too bad the commish and his crew can't loosen up a little bit. "I was just having fun," T.O. said. "You can't do nothing anymore." I strongly encouraged T.O. not to let the loss of several thousand dollars stifle his celebratory creativity. Perhaps he should take a note out of fellow flamboyant WR Chad Johnson's book and take the post-TD show to the sideline. |

I don't even understand the celebration rules. There are very few celebrations that could even be considered taunting... and most aren't long enough to be considered a delay of game.
The spiking the ball during a play that didn't result in a TD at least makes some sense..

"I misinterpreted the rules."
Wow, I am REALLY starting to like TO this year.

Well Sheriff Goodell has shown that he has a real dislike and prejudice against the Cowboys. He let Coach Bellichek off pretty easy for stealing signals, but came down real hard on Coach Wade Wilson for trying to help is impotency. And now he has over reacted once again and come down pretty hard on T.O. He is so prejudice against the Cowboys that he actually called Wade Wilson a criminal and said he committed a criminal act. Goodell you are wrong; taking an HGH is NOT a criminal act. It is only against certain sports rules. You better look up the law before making the mistake of calling someone a criminal. Remember Goodell you were voted in; you can also be voted out. I for one am anxious for you to leave. I had hoped you would be good for the league but I was mistaken.

I usually don't like those TD celebrations but have to admitt that T.O's "Spycam" imitation had me LMAO. I really like the "new" Owens.

"This is the way it is in athletics, pro or college. If you can play, we'll cut you some slack.
And if you screw up, we'll cut you some more slack."
I disagree with this staement. How many hockey players do you see getting in trouble?
"Athletics" is too broad a staememnt.

T.O. is a funny guy. They really need to lighten up on the celebration rules. Let them have a little bit of fun.

I think that everythin T.O. Has done this year has been great. He is loved by his teamates and has shown that he has matured this year. And he shouldn't of got penalized for spinning the ball, the rule says dont spike. Also his td celebration was absolutely genious and his comments about being fined and misunderstanding the rules are histarical, atleast he knows how to keep the fun and entertainment in the game. He is having fun this year. I think that goodell has shown that he isn't going to be as consitent of a commish that we all thought. And I'm glad so Manu people are fianally starting to like T.O. He has been nothing but a positive since he got to Dallas.

Where is Goodell from? Just curious.

Did Goodell fine Joey Porter for opening his big mouth and then getting popped with a 15 yard penalty for ripping off Barber's helmet on his first carry?

Goodell is from New York I believe!

Mr. Goodell is from the state of EGO. He certainly come across as ego driven, to a fault. As long as he only comes down hard on the Cowboys, he will have no problem with the other owners. The league needs the Cowboys, but sure as hell "don't like them".

It might be worth cheating then if you can win a few suprbowls and you don't even get suspended, and I am sure Jerry would cover the fee.

The rules have been pretty clear, but what do you expect, T.O didn't know tha plays from the playbook last year, so I guess it should be pretty clear to everyone that T.O isn't hooked on phonics...

LETS SEE HOW CONSISTANT GOODELL IS.. so many people spin the ball .. that's what T.O. did.. he spun the ball.. and they called Delay of Game.. I saw that happen about 10 times last Sunday.. only a few were called..
How is running into the Stands not Delay of Game.. it took longer to do that then the Goal Post thing..

I predict -
Given the NFL's attempt to control coverage via ownership of the content, they will soon issue an edict that will fine the broadcaster who puts illegal celebrations on TV when they occur outside of normal play. In other words, Chad Johnson's found a loophole, and the suits in Manhattan are going to close it before they get more embarassed.
ridiculous. But let's see...

how about reporting on something of real importance !! Are TN and GE practicing today ?
Posted by DougO @ 4:11 PM Wed, Sep 19, 2007
Even Chad Johnson's putrid yellow fake HOF jacket looked better than that stupid green dot they FORCE the QB's to wear on their helmets. The NFL makes no sense anyore.

Follow the rules and this won't happen. It's that simple.

Yes Silver and Blue. In the No Fun League it's that simple. Now get that knot out of your panties.

This is what happens when the rules are broken. Quit complaing people.
