I discovered ESPN.com's embeddable video bank a few minutes ago and found this cut of T.O.'s appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" He gushes about Tony Romo. "It's nice to see you getting along with your quarterback for a change," Kimmel wisecracked. Maybe I'm drinking the kool-aid, but I just don't see the T.O.-Romo relationship turning sour. Romo goes out of his way to stay on T.O.'s good side, and T.O. might just understand that he'll be forever remembered as a team chemistry toxin if things don't work out for him here. That won't be his legacy if he helps the Cowboys win a Super Bowl. |

I'm not even sure if anyone can remember precisely what caused so much friction between TO and his quarterbacks. I know things became strained between him and McNabb after he sustained that pretty severe injury from Roy Williams' horse collar tackle.
I also recall intense amount of friction with Garcia, but I barely recall it at this point.
I feel like his exploits have simply been magnified since the McNabb era due to the apparent closeness of their relationship; had McNabb and Owens NOT gotten along as well, and had they been less successful during their reign, I think the ESPNs of the world would have made their eventual departure less of a big deal. I mean, Antonio Bryant has had it out with pretty much all of his QB's since coming into the league, but no one cares because he's simply not 1. a good WR or 2. popular with the fans.
So, anyway, I think TO and ROMO know they have to mesh to get this team a Superbowl... and both are, frankly, in the hot seat to perform; the pressure is on for Owens to expand upon last year's performance, and on Romo to show he's not a one hit wonder. They need each other, and that will make it work.

dare I say TO is starting to appear lovable no less? What with him consoling Romo after the Seattle debacle and his pROMOtion in the offseason... Timmah I am drinkin the koolaid too... looks like TO is gaining some Romomentum of his own.

Beyond the "love" he shows for Tony Romo, he seems VERY smart and charming!! His responses to every question thrown his way was met with thought and honesty. You know, lately, he has been more of a role model than a team obliterator! I'm proud of him...I hope he keeps this up!!
Oh, and maybe Romo and TO just like each other for real. Maybe they are actually friends. TO did not have to console Romo after that playoff game, he could have left him alone, but he didn't.
They are always standing near each other and laughing...they more than respect each other, they like each other as people. Maybe that will help for the future.

I'm not completely buying it yet, but it looks like little T.O. might finally be growing up.

it seems like t.o., much like many players getting up there in age, is starting to ponder his legacy. i do think some of it is still selfish, though. he is becoming more concerned about how he will be remembered and how that will affect his getting into the hall of fame someday. "good guys" get in a lot easier than bad guys.

Has anyone considered that Bill Parcells treatment of TO is what caused his behavior last year? It was obvious that BP wasn't for acquiring TO and therefore treated him as such...
He is clearly well-spoken and works very hard.
We'll just have to see how he faces the adversity, should things get bumpy this year.

T.O is a fine person, and better player. Sure he's a camera hog, but that's ok with me. He has no criminal record, no spousal abuse, no bar shootings, so I am glad we have him.

Hanker is right. I mean you've got gang-bangers, wife-beaters, drug dealers, and all types of other thugs (only a small percentage of players fit these categories but these types are in the league) and we're to believe TO is the ultimate villian because he likes attention and didn't get along with two quarterbacks.

Little T.O. is indeed Growing Up!
He's turning into a good guy, and good guys do very well in Big D.
