Keyshawn admits he was wrong about Romo

ESPN's Keyshawn Johnson, who called Tony Romo the NFL's most overhyped player this summer, just admitted that he was wrong about his former teammate.

Keyshawn said he didn't think Romo had much potential during the two years they spent together at Valley Ranch. Romo often made throws during practice that made Keyshawn scratch his head and say, "What are you doing?"

All it took was a Pro Bowl appearance and a fantastic 4-0 start for Keyshawn to change his mind, though he's still not pouring on the praise.

"I'm starting to see what everybody is seeing," Keyshawn said. "He has the opportunity to be a good quarterback. All he has to do is stay poised and not let all the celebrity stuff get in the way."

Bill Parcells, who shares the ESPN set with Keyshawn, hasn't cracked that bottle of anointing oil quite yet. The Tuna said Romo can make all the throws when he has his feet set, but he has to avoid "that rodeo cowboy stuff."

Does anyone really expect the Tuna say anything that would draw attention to the self-evident? Namely, that he brought the team to the brink and then held them back from the Promised Land.

Otherwise known as "that Brett Favre stuff"

Yeah baby! Keyshawn is on the wagon so get off all you haters! Go Cowboys!!!

"rodeo cowboy stuff". that's awesome. although i don't miss bill, you got to admit he's a great quote & conducts a good press conference.

Well I'm watching ESPN, and Keyshawn may have laid off of Romo, but he is now knocking the secondary. The Tuna also had a dig against the Boys. And they are starting that "they look good now but wait until they play New England". That is what they said just before the Bears game. Now that the Boys beat the Bears they still won't give up, just have to keep up the negative banter. What are they going to say when the Boys beat New England? Well just wait until they play ???? Who???? I sure am tired of ESPN's keep knocking the Boys no matter what they do. Hey ESPN, do you know how many people don't like you? You should take a pole, it might surprise you.

*murmur* Poll. You want them to take a poll. Unless they're going fishing. Or dancing. Or choosing a Polish life partner.

haha... actually I would like to take a "pole" to all this people who keep whining about ESPN/media... who cares? as long as the Cowboys win, I'm happy.... if you're that much of a homer, why don't you turn off ESPN and listen to the radio pre-game? (like I do) Cheers!

Sorry about that. You're right, take a poll, not pole. Made a mistake. Oh here goes Keyshawn knocking T.O. again.

Yeah, but Tuna damned Romo with faint praise.
"Are you surprised by Romo?"
Tuna: "No, I'm not surprised."

Keyshawn got six kinds of fired up about TO though.

Well, that's a relief. I'm sure Romo was quite worried about the lack of endorsement from a has-been.

I love these sports "journalists" like Goose and Keyshawn that throw keep using "I" this and that. Sorry to disappoint them, but no one cares that someone does or doesn't meet their personal approval. Both Goose and Keyshawn (Emmitt also?) have proven to be less than insightful. You could pick up just about anyone off of this blog and get an opinion that is just about as informed as either one of them.

Tim, sometimes you embarrass yourself. Annointing oil lids are typically lifted, not cracked open!

And anointing is usually spelled with one n, but who's getting all smart and nit picky?
