Donovan McNabb was asked about his quote that the NFC East title goes through Philadelphia. He's sticking to it, even though the Eagles need a win to get to .500. "If you want to be the best and be the heavyweight champion, you can beat everyone that you're fighting," McNabb said, "but ... no one will look at you as the champion unless you beat the champion. "It's not anything that's bulletin board material or something that can motivate you. If you need that to motivate you to play this game, you don't need to play." The Cowboys agree, at least publicly, pointing to the Eagles' run of five division titles in the last six seasons. |

I am a New Yorker, but as big a Cowboys fan as there is...maybe its my close proximity to Philadelphia, maybe it's the fact that I am also a Mets, Knicks and Rangers fan and Philadelphia is in my division for all 4 sports but I HATE Philly!! Booing Irvin that day sealed the deal for me forever, I never want us to take any prisoners, no mercy with the Eagles. Yeah, they have been carrying the banner for the NFC East 5 out of 6 years but the balance of power is shifting back to Big D and if this team is truley for real, we START proving it this week, primetime, national audience Sunday Night Football...and then CONTINUE to prove it the next two weeks in New Jersey and at home against the 'Skins.

I love it how McNabb is backing away from the meaning of his comments... Now he is just meaning hey you have to beat the teams in your division to win it... meaning even Philly.... NOT WHAT HE MEANT EARLIER... which was to get the Annointing Oil you had to Beat Philly.. it's so funny...
But I think the Cowboys have a Mental Block when it comes to being able to beat the Eagles and they need to get past that.. or else they will keep wondering .. Will we ever be able to beat these guys.. and the Giants will be like Hey.. they can't even beat the Eagles.. and it will give them Confidence... This game is big from a Mental standpoint.. more than a Win/Loss standpoint..
They have to come out BLASTING !!! deep throws to Crayton and Owens.. alot of throws to the Backs.. and PLEASE FOR THE SAKE OF G.. throw some damn SLANTS...
The Patriots make it look so easy..because it is... 1,2,3, Throw... Damn..
and on Defense.. Tackles need to turn into SLAMS, Hits need to turn into DRIVEN INTO THE TURF.. and most importantly... a game full of GANG TACKLES !! that's how you win... and strip the ball

Don't know why this is still news. Of course the East title goes through Philly. They are the reigning champs and losing to them is like losing two games. One in the overall record and one in the East record. We CAN'T lose to any East team and expect to win the East. The Eagles are down this year, but still very dangerous. Playing in Philly vs the Cowboys you know both the players and fans are going to be fired up. This will be a very tough game, but one we should win. Yes the title goes through Philly, and NY, and Washington and hopefully ends up in Big D.

That's a two sided coin. The champs have to play like champs, then the road to the division has to go through them.

McNabb's not saying anything different than Aikman when the Cowboys began their demise. You're champion until someone comes in and knocks you off the throne.

SO WHAT ABOUT THE PACKERS... YOU STILL HAVE TO GO THROUGH CHICAGO TO BE THE CHAMPIONS... HUH... AH... NO.. THAT'S NOT RIGHT IS IT ??
ONCE THE SEASON IS OVER YOU AREN'T THE CHAMPIONS ANYMORE.... EVERYONE IS ACTING LIKE THEY CAN GO 0-14 BUT IF YOU BEAT THE EAGLES TWICE THEN YOUR CHAMPS.... WRONG....WRONG....

Since when did McPuke become a Champ?

Ummm, let's see here. If Dallas goes 13-3 with 2 losses to Philly and Philly wins out to finish 12-4, by the actual math that people in the real world use, Dallas wins the NFC East without beating Philly. I'm not sure elementary math is one of McNabb's strong suits though.

Maybe when Mcnabby is picking himself up off the Linc grass about six or seven times, thanks to Ellis, Ware, and Spencer, he will think again about the whole champ thing. He has never won a superbowl so maybe he should shut up...Come on Cowboys..put a good 'ol Texas whoopin on the Iggles....Cowboys 42 Iggles 17

Yeah jrs, deep throws and then Romo can have another 5 interception game. You're priceless.
