I wasn't here last year, but from what I'm told the hype surrounding Terrell Owens heading to Lincoln Financial Field now isn't near what it was then. And just as Donovan McNabb was complimentary of T.O., Andy Reid was quick to throw his old receiver his best. "He’s a great player," said Reid. "He’ll go down if not the best, one of the best ever to play this game. Unbelievable football player." Reid was then asked about the frenzy last year, and didn't seem to think it was all to do with T.O. "I think it was (T.O.) and just it being the Dallas Cowboys," Reid said. "I think it’s developed into a great rivalry over the years, and I think the Dallas fans feel the same way the Philly fans do. When the other team comes into town, they’re excited." The coach did say that dynamic exists all over the NFC East. But this one's a little different, because the Cowboys aren't in the Eagles' backyard, the way the Giants and Redskins are. "The other ones are so close in proximity, but then you got the Dallas Cowboys," Reid said. "They all get a lot of hype and they’re all very exciting, from a coaching standpoint and a playing standpoint. This week, I’ll guarantee it’s the most exciting game of the year." |

I wouldn't say it will be the most exciting. That title going to the Pats/Colts. But to the respective fans it will be one of the bigger games in recent history.
What is hard to believe is that for the most part, the Eagles aren't playing that well, and yet, some are expecting them to beat us. This brings me to believe, as I have said before, that if we aren't up for this game, and I mean mentally, they will beat us.
I am not sure how anybody else feels, but if I were the coach, I would choose to kickoff first. Get the defense out on the field and pressure Mcnabb from the start. To me that will set the tone for the game, rather than them doing it to us. The mindset of the defense is different from the offense. That being the case, I think our defense matches up better to their offense.
Anyway, I am glad there are two great games on tv this weekend. I am sorry for the people who can't watch all the games. I have directTV and I am glad I do.

"They all get a lot of hype..."
ooh, I sense a tad of resentment.

I think this version of the Cowboys is the best since Aikman, Smith and Irvin were out there. That said, I think Westbrook will beat the snot out of the Dallas D and Mcnabb, Curtis and Brown will piss all over the 'Boys.

I think the Cowboys have a challenge on their hands. You know what they say...Romo the Homo.
Posted by Thomson @ 12:14 PM Wed, Oct 31, 2007
Romo is the real deal. Don't get me wrong, he's no Chagalis, but he'll get it done. If Chagalis was at the helm, he'd throw for 350 yards against the Philly D with at least a buck-fiddy going to Morrow in the slot. Let's face it, the Cowboy's are dill-holes.

This year's version of the Eagles does not have the horses to stay with this year's Cowboys. I'm sorry, but this may be the game where Terrell Owens really ignites a hatred among bird fans, because he is going to embarrass the HELL out of them on Sunday night. And I love it.

Eagles fans have no life!

Being a life long fan of the boys I have to say i am a little disturbed about the rumors surrounding troy aikman and the use of the back door. Maybe that's why we all call them the "Boys". Maybe there is something to this Romo homo business. Either way they will sure have it packed in for the eagles.

I can't wait to see McFlabb get punked on Sunday...does he still puke in the huddle, or just pee in his panties???

I am a 12 year old fan of the Cowboys and think Tony Romo is the most awesomest qwarterback ever. The Eagles will tear this team apart limb from limb. Westbrook will run for 200 yds and McNabb will pass for 400. This newspaper sux.
Posted by cowboy's boy @ 12:34 PM Wed, Oct 31, 2007
McNabb will throw the ball in the ground 5 times. Westbrook fumbles twice. Reed collapses on the sidelines due to stress, weight and McNabb's inability to win real games (superbowl - i'm to tired to run the hurry up). Cowboys win by 21, just callin it the way I see it.
PS: Aikman will say at the end of the game, "You know T.O. sure looks good in that uniform, I sure would have liked him to be my center"

eagle fans will be yelling trent edwards by the 3rd quarter.

[sigh]
After Sunday, thankfully, the lone eagles fan writing all of these comments from his mother's basement will be off to find the blog for their next opponent.

Can't wait for the Eagles to kick the piss out of the Cowboys on national tv Sunday.
Posted by ron mexico @ 12:54 PM Wed, Oct 31, 2007
What's up with all the idiot fan comments? Everyone knows the Cowboys top rival is Washington, not NY or Philly. This game is important because it's divisional, but it's not the biggest game of the year. Next week won't be either, FWIW. I've got weeks 11 and 17 circled.

Of course he does. I believe that. I really do. Of course I believe in the tooth fairy, Santa, and Nessie too. I'm exceedingly gullible.
Posted by Teddy @ 12:55 PM Wed, Oct 31, 2007
It is the most exciting game of the year for Eagles. It seems almost always to be. I think their defense is pretty good and they have not given up more than 21 in any games. They gave up 21 to Detroit, but scored 56. It will not be easy to score against Eagles. So the defense must step up and does not let Eagles score too much in order to win.

Chris,
"Trent Edwards"? Doesn't he play for Buffalo? Did you perhaps mean Kevin Kolb or is there some connection here I'm missing
Posted by Mcnabb is the leading loser of all eagles fans @ 12:58 PM Wed, Oct 31, 2007
I am laughing at these weak eagles fans! TO is about open up a tall can of beat the secondary. Oh by the way have the Eagles made it to .500 yet? NOPE!!!! I wonder how it felt to get shredded by those weak Chicago Bears. YOU eagles FANS HAVE HUGE NADS TO TRY AND COME IN HERE TALKING SMACK!! HOW BOUT HELPING DONOVAN RUN FOR MORE THAN 4 YARDS BECAUSE HE IS GONNA BE RUNNING FOR ALOT MORE (IN THE WRONG DIRECTION)ON SUNDAY NIGHT. The eagles blow and so do their wussy fans!! Dallas 42 - eagles 14
Posted by Saint Jimmy @ 1:00 PM Wed, Oct 31, 2007
Albert, last year it was the same with poor parent Ried and McPuke giving the same PC answers. Just wait till Sunday night and you'll see how vicious this rivalry truly is. BTW, how many of us are surprised that TO went wild in Philly when Andy Ried can't even control his own children?
Posted by Rolando @ 1:07 PM Wed, Oct 31, 2007
Bill,
I'm pretty sure it was just an extended reference to the Bills' QB controversy. He seems to suggest that McNabb will play so bad that the Philly fans will ask for someone else's backup -- and after all the hype Trent Edwards got from the ESPN crew during that Monday Night broadcast, it kind of makes sense. Like an overhyped QB a la Edwards is the answer... get it? Haha. I thought it was funny.

Eagle fans are so cute. Like little leprechauns protecting their gold.....oh wait they have no gold. I guess we could let help protect all 5 of ours but in reality they already have!!!

Ro,
That's way to complex for my poor lil ol head to follow.

Seeing the personal hatred on here for Troy and Romo makes me ashamed to like football. I just cannot read this blog anymore..ever. Good luck, Sunday. Hope whoever you hate wins the biggest.

I agree with Jeff, this blog is getting out of hand. All of these Cowboy fans should audition for Brokeback Mountain 2. Romo and Aikman play the lead with TO rounding out the love triangle.

I am very offended at the way some alternative lifestyles are being used within this blog. I happen to be a happy homosexual male (at least sometimes I play the male part) and don't appreciate my lifestyle being used in such an offensive way. Nobody should have a problem with what Jeff and I or Troy and Romo do with our own bodies.
Enough said,

There should be an age limit to the posters here. Can we keep the conversation at a mature level please?
One way to do it is to look at the stats of the past. So, let's look at the facts.
Dallas Cowboys - 8 Super Bowl Appearances / 5 Championships
Philadelphia Eagles - I don't keep up with these LOSERS!

"Being a life long fan of the boys I have to say i am a little disturbed about the rumors surrounding troy aikman and the use of the back door."
Tell McNabb to put a little cortisone cream on that, he'll be fine.

being from the area of philly- atlantic city , knowing how the hillbilly toothless fans are here, and also knowing the skankadelphia air-rats have not won a super bowl makes me wonder when anything from trashadelphia will win a championship? the fans cant count, cant get a job nor hold down their own puke like Mcpuke !
let it be said- dallas 28 - air -rats 16
and andy reids waist line- 64

I hate Andy Reid too. Everything from his sea lion jowls to his podunk cop mustache. I hope D'Ware "accidentally" over pursues and levels Andy the Hutt there on the sideline, even though the shock wave will cause a 7.9 scale earthquake. Screw them all...no mercy.

These Eagles fans are driving me CRAZY!!! Don't they know that they suck more Romo in a Minneapolis airport bathroom?

brett denver - take a look at AC lately?
Posted by Santa @ 5:34 PM Thu, Nov 01, 2007
I don't think he can because either his dorked-out Oakley sunglasses are all fogged up, or, his leopard pattern weight lifting pants are on too tight.

TAKE A LOOK IN AC FOR WHAT, LIVE HERE , LOVE BUT TO CLOSE TO TRASHADELPHIA !
