More conference call fodder: QB Tony Romo thanked Terrell Owens in talking to the New England press today for picking him up after the fumbled snap in Seattle during last year's playoffs. "He was great," said Romo. "The first week or two afterwards it was difficult, and then he continued to call and stay upbeat and say he’s got my back, and I knew that. He’s a great teammate, really, contrary to what everyone says. We’re just having fun now. We’re winning some games." |

WOW!

I'm glad that Romo is staying humble but I SURE wish he would kick Canty and Spears in the behind so they would make some plays! The Cowboys backup NT is doing more than both of them combined. (Ratliff)

Terrell has been great, but for whatever reason, there's still this ongoing 'T.O. watch' that can't wait for him to somehow become a distraction.
This morning I listened to our boy Skip Bayless get all lathered up because T.O. was upset and 'threw his helmet' after Romo's 5th interception. That, of course, was a sign that it's only a matter of time before T.O. breaks out his envelope of Anthrax and sprinkles it throughout the lockerroom.
The 'watch' has become tiresome, and I can't wait to hear all of the explainations and back tracking when it never happens.

Skip Bayless!! Whatever...he's a legend in his own mind and his opinions and comments are nothing but cow pies!
Posted by Ken In SA @ 4:20 PM Wed, Oct 10, 2007
Jeff, I hear you, but I don't think the TO watch is going away, at least any time soon. The media has to have something to report. They are desperate for it, really, as having something to report is their lifeblood. So, even when there is no controversy, they have create the faux-controversy of "we may be on the verge of controversy" (if that makes sense).

Skip Bayless can rot in hell. What a negative P.O.S
Posted by Luke @ 4:36 PM Wed, Oct 10, 2007
I hate skip bayless... he is the one that claims that TO "slowed the eagles down in the super bowl" when in reality he kept them in the game

i hate TO. and any true cowboy fan hates him too. my hope is that TO will have someone take his head off, but i doubt it will ever happen cause he drops the ball EVERY time he hears footsteps. he is a scared little girl that needs to be stomped into the ground and spit on.
Posted by DFan in TN @ 4:56 PM Wed, Oct 10, 2007
Any true Cowboy fan wants someone who can play and help the team to win. The man lead the league last year in touchdowns with a torn tendon and a metal plate in his hand.
Then, instead of throwing someone under the bus, he pulled him up!! I love it!!
Posted by JD @ 5:00 PM Wed, Oct 10, 2007
Actually, did you hear the "great teammate" TO throw ROMO under the bus after the game by saying that the 2-point conversion pass was "underthrown" (which it wasn't--it was perfect) instead of admitting that the guy stripped it away from him? He does drop a LOT of passes. He's only concerned with records and stats. I am a lifelong Cowboys fan, but I will be glad when he is gone.
Posted by Larry @ 5:18 PM Wed, Oct 10, 2007
Who Cares,
You are apparently saying all that just to be contraversial. No one could be that seriously stupid.
JD, it was not a bad pass but it was underthrown for that particular type of pass to a tall receiver if we are talking about what would have been a perfect pass. Even Jerry Jones was quoted as saying Terrell would have probably caught it if it had been higher "so he could have caught it with his hands", instead of having to cradle it, and I think that is all T.O. was trying to say. He was not trying to pass the buck to Romo.
Posted by BigTex84 @ 5:32 PM Wed, Oct 10, 2007
Well JD, get your popcorn ready...because the way T.O. takes care of his body...it's gonna be awhile!!
Also, you must have missed all through out the game when T.O. was patting Romo on the head and back after EACH turnover!! He was also the only teammate to run out with Tony after half-time!! THAT'S A GREAT TEAMMATE NO MATTER HOW YOU SLICE IT!!!
Calm down, the ball was underthrown...as tall as T.O. is, his hands should have been up in the air, not behind the head of the defender (who was face guarding) or down on the ground by his feet (like that last pass to T.O.)!!! Should he have caught it...YES! Could it have been thrown better...YES!
Finally, realize that the man does help us win games...we beat NY by 10 points...T.O. caught 2 touchdowns...you do the math!!!
Posted by Keith @ 5:50 PM Wed, Oct 10, 2007
Skip Bayless is a wesel.
The 2pt conversion was underthrown. It doesn't really matter. a 2pt conversion means overtime, which is a 50/50 proposition at best.
Bottom line is we won and Romo seems to have come out of this with confidence and more importantly his team's confidence in him as well.
Posted by JD @ 6:11 PM Wed, Oct 10, 2007
Ok, Ok. I'm big enough to admit that I could be wrong on the pass. I have started seeing signs of a TO blowup and he does talk about stats and records.
Posted by who cares @ 7:21 PM Wed, Oct 10, 2007
tell me he doesnt drop every ball that comes to him when he is about to take a hit. you tell me that and ill tell you, you are a liar. you watch him when someone is gonna hit him and see what he does. if romo throws a few more interceptions you will see the real TO. it will take him a little longer to erupt this time cause this is one of the last city's that will actually put up with his s#$t. but it will happen. and i really think romo is a stand up guy. TO shoulda caught that ball under thrown or not. its time to back up that trash he talks. he got PUNKED!!!!!
Posted by Rob Miles @ 8:09 PM Wed, Oct 10, 2007
Hey, did any of you catch Breer's chat the other day? IN it, he said faceguarding is no longer illegal, and he didn't see any illegal contact on the two point conversion.
So, does anybody know? Is face guarding allowed? If so, does anybody think the Cowboys corners can get away with it?
And if Breer didn't see the contact with Owens while the ball was a good 5 feet away, then he was watching a different game than I was. I saw it again today, and it was just too obvious.

Hey, "Who Cares"
I think your name says it all.
Posted by Pat Fan @ 8:32 PM Wed, Oct 10, 2007
Of course the TO watch is on. He's been a distraction every year and every place he's been. It's never his fault. TO is his own worst enemy b/c he can't keep his mouth shut. I would not want him on my team. I look forward to this match up. You'll see what the might of the AFC can do to the NFC's best.
Posted by Mississippi Mike @ 9:17 PM Wed, Oct 10, 2007
Attention all T.O haters. Less not forget what he did to the patriots in the super bowl. In which I think it was the last time he faced them. Also the mighty AFC patroits hasn't played any winning teams either. ooooo my bad...that don't matter. Because they have already won the SB. Also is me and Rob M. the only one saw the pass interference on the 2pt conversion. But, it's T.O he suppose to catch anything. Hope Moss feel like playing this Sunday. Since he plays when he wants to. The BOYS WILL WIN SUNDAY. TAKE THAT TO THE BANK BABY.

t.o. was great in philly and half the locker will tell you that...i'll reserve judgement when this teams starts to struggle.

Pat Fan: I KNOW YOU AREN'T TALKING DISTRACTIONS!!
Randy Moss is the guy that famously said, "I play when I want to!", he left his team stranded in the 4th quarter, AND he mooned the fans...and your quaterback...his love life and his new baby Jet Moynahan are on the cover of People if you are interested. Oh and your coach...well, you know what happened there!! Oh, and didn't a player just come back becuase he was suspended for drug violations?! Don't tell me about distractions!!! T.O. has been anything but so far...this year...he's been great!!
Posted by Pat Fan @ 11:21 PM Wed, Oct 10, 2007
Unlike TO, Randy has been quiet on his new team. He doesn't talk to the media and all his teammates (not half) have nothing but good things to say about him. I am confused. TO hasn't been a distraction in Dallas? What was that suicide attempt last year? Do you not deep down feel that his addition to the team drove Parcells out of town? Of course you do. The guy is a cancer and when he is shut down on Sunday he's going to flip about not catching the ball in 4 weeks. Y'all can read the writing on the wall. You know its there. You're hoping that he doesn't wreck this team/season, but know that his attitude can do it. His team is actually thanking him for blocking and being a decoy? Is that a joke? Is he a 2 year old who needs recognition for everything he does? As for BB, does this team look distracted to you? They look like they are holding up their middle finger to the rest of the league (to quote Bill Simmons). If you've heard nothing about this Patriots team under BB, know that they will look for any disrespect and use it against their opponent.

" The two point conversion play was underthrone.
Plus it should have been pass interference.
Also that ball that he dropped right before the field goal was just a good defensive play because the defender actually knocked it out as T.O. was goin down. Even the ESPN announcers saw that."
(i wish ppl. would just be fair, instead of seeing everything thru "hate colored" glasses.)
"Go Cowboys!!!"

"Pat Fan, you and most of America feel that T.O. was a distraction because you got 'chur info from ESPN. Pretty much EVERTHING thay said about T.O. last yr. was a "big fat lie." (or @ least the way they constuid'it. I'm not kiddin. I was on D'cowboys.com and here everyday, an kept up with what was happenin...then on ESPN that night it would be a totally diff. story. Then @ the local sports bar here in Ky. all everybody knew was what was said on ESPN.
I lost total respect fer ESPN after that. Only one I care ta listen to now on there is Bill Parcells Mr. Football 101."

hilarious, mmartin! i, too, kept thinking how pathetic it was that fat fan obviously gets all his info from 'the worldwide leader'... and then the bill simmons quote -- priceless.
as a sports addict, it's disappointing to see the way espn is increasingly selling out and going tabloid. it's funny to see how jaded the rest of the world is on the cowboys as a result.
thanks for the good times, pat fan. there's hope for you yet. just not this sunday.

"I would not want him on my team."
I'm sure you'd rather have Rodney Harrison, dirtiest player in NFL history.
Posted by Vox Veritas @ 11:19 AM Thu, Oct 11, 2007
The NFL dumped the faceguarding rule a long time ago, but the guy had his hands on the inside of TO's arms and then pushed on his chest, all with the ball in the air and the DB's back to the ball. It's a judgment call, but in my judgment that was pass interference. No matter now, the good guys won.
Posted by BigTex84 @ 4:13 PM Thu, Oct 11, 2007
Pat Fan,
Don't get mad at me for what your team did. This year, T.O. has not been a distraction. This year, Moss has not been a distraction (outside of the media questioning his groin injury...which is exactly what T.O. went through last year).
Oh and T.O. didn't say anything to the media this week...nor has he said anything negative!
If you want to bring up last year and distractions, I will e-mail you pictures of Randy Moss slumping down on the bench or quotes on how he didn't see a point to trying!! Last year, Moss was worse...numbers wise and attitude wise.
In addition, that overdose was not intentional...you can't blame BB for cheating...oh wait...I guess that WAS intentional!! Nevermind!! What about the player that misused drugs...was that a distraction to his team!? Is he a cancer? Is Tom Brady a cancer for his sex-capades?! If T.O. was a cancer, this team wouldn't be 5-0 right now!!
Finally, you can stick your middle finger wherever you want to...if it happened it happened! Admit it, the Pats have made more negative news than the Cowboys have this year!!! Man up and admit that they CHEATED and that they have MADE THE HEADLINES LEFT AND RIGHT...or leave this site if it hurts your feelings!!
