10-1 is great, but it's not the goal

The Cowboys had never been 10-1 until now.

That's remarkable considering this franchise's history. None of the eight teams that advanced to the Super Bowl won 10 of their first 11 games. It's something these Cowboys are proud of, but they aren't going to go crazy celebrating the accomplishment.

"We made history today," LB Bradie James said, "and it really doesn't matter if we don't go and win the Super Bowl."

Added TE Jason Witten: "We don't want to look too much into it and get too excited. For this team, that's not what we set our goal to be."

These Cowboys' goal is to get to Arizona and make dudes like Albert "Einstein" Breer look dumb for thinking the NFC champ has no chance to win.

Their goal is one game at a time. Remember, guys, Romo has played, what? 20 games? Yeah, he has been in the league for a few years, but I don't care what anybody says, he is still for the most part, a rookie. Sitting on the sidelines isn't the same as playing. Yeah, he has matured as a person, and as a player, but he hasn't seen everything, yet, as a QB.

He threw for almost 200 yards, today, pretty good for a day's work, yet people said he had an off day. Some of his throws weren't on the money, but I wouldn't worry about it. A football team has 22 players; 11 on offense, and 11 on defense. It isn't his job to carry the team, and it isn't Owen's either. Jones and Barber have jobs, too, and they stepped up today.

It was a good win, and there were no injuries.

Good job, guys!

I agree, one game at a time now lets get ready for green bay next week.

They don't have to make Breer look dumb, he does a good job of that himself.

On this thanksgiving day:

I am thankful that even on an off day, Romo is still a great QB.

I am thankful that we have a back like Marion Barber(103 Yards)

I am thankful that Patrick Crayton will be back next week because, as I predicted, Hurd and Austin are a drop off.

I am thankful that Julius Jones, who had everyting going for him - Playing at home, contract year, brother and family watching, other teams watching, and a weak Jet run defense, will be gone next year and we will have a suitable partner for Barber out of the draft or free agency. If Julius could not have a big day today, he no longer has it in him.

666,

You were right in your rantings yesterday.
If something should happen to Crayton or T.O. and the boys had to go into the playoffs with Hurd and Austin as the #2 and #3 receivers, we are toast.

Remember the running game is the key. For any game. Keep everyone's offense off the field. Run the ball. Give it to JJ 20 times FIRST. Then 15 to MB3. Punish, soften, then attack with the deep ball. The points are in the passing game, but running the ball is not against the law.

I would agree that losing T.O. would be bad, but losing Crayton will not hurt as bad. Hurd and Austin aren't bad, just a little green. What they aren't, and what would kill us if T.O. went down is fast. We would have no deep threats, and yes, that would hurt.

But, along those same lines, were Moss to get hurt it would affect Brady, too. It wouldn't keep them out of the playoffs, but it would definitely make them more vulnerable.

Lets just hope our receivers stay healthy.

What is the goal? To beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl? Please. You will be just like the Rockies against the Red Sox. Complete toast!!

Ain't living in Dallas when the Cowboys are winning just plain GREAT!
It'll be a fun holiday season.

So, is Cal still predicting 10-6 for this team?

Breer is a Pats fan I'm surprised he is even allowed to comment. Plus he's an Idiot, which would make him a Pats fan

Different sport, but remember the Mavs; dominant in the regular season, embarrassed by a .500 team in the playoffs. Keep your eyes on the prize.
