![]() LOUIS DeLUCA / DMN Perhaps the most underreported story of this Cowboys-Eagles week is the rivalry between Australian punters Mat McBriar and Saverio Rocca. Rocca started it with a figurative slap of McBriar's face. In May, Rocca credited Aussie punter Darren Bennett for being his punting inspiration. McBriar didn't even get mentioned despite coming off the best punting season since Sammy Baugh's day!! McBriar has steamed in silence, but rest assured he plans to prove to all six Australians who will watch the game which punter from Down Under can really bring the thunder. The only reason McBriar hasn't slammed Rocca publicly is because, well, he's a little scared of the dude. You see, Rocca is a 6-5, 265-pound former Aussie Rules Football star. "You got my back, right?" McBriar asked me. After I informed him that I did not, he declined to contribute any inflammatory quotes to my sensationalistic cause. |

Tim: Is it the truth the Eagles players and fans think of Andy Reid as a father figure?

Tim, I like to think that McBriar is one of the best punters in NFL history. If Ray Guy and others had to use the K-Balls their averages wouldn't be nearly as high.

At least you honestly answered about not having his back, which would be analagous to, a remora having a great white's back. Er, stomach probably. Somehow I bet McBriar didn't even know about any comments until a certain DMN writer brought them to his attention, and the only steam occurred when McBriar hit the neighborhood raw bar for some oysters.

I'm an Australian (one of the 6 that watch the NFL apparently, oh and play the american brand of football here in Aus).. anyways.. Rocca was useless in the Australian League because he is soft and hates to get hit.. and he is just as useless in the NFL for the exact same reason.. you won't see that dude try make a tackle as the last line, we all saw the shot he took in the preseason, he probably went to to locker room a cried after that..

Tim: maybe one of these weeks you could give us a poll as to who our all-time LEAST FAVORITE special teams guys have been. It'd be interesting to see who people pick because there sure are alot of them. I can't remember a time besides now where I really liked both our K and P. I nominate Lin Elliot as my least favorite K.
