The New York Times has an interesting story today about the halftime entertainment that happens on Gate D at the Meadowlands during Jets games. At halftime of the Jets' home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, several hundred men lined one of Giants Stadium’s two pedestrian ramps at Gate D. Three deep in some areas, they whistled and jumped up and down. Then they began an obscenity-laced chant, demanding that the few women in the gathering expose their breasts. Real classy, huh? I'm counting on you folks to protect our fine Texas women from these hooligans Thursday. |

That is disgraceful!!! I mean those Jets fans not even offering beads in return??? What a bunch of heathens! Our girls are a lot smarter than that and know to hold out for beads. Unless they are from North Dallas, then they hold out for pearls. Of course, Highland Park girls won't show for less than diamonds. How 'bout them...ummm...Cowboys!!!

That is so disrespectful and classless. Refusing to show their boobs. What a great upbringing.

Lawl. But it's not entertaining if they don't succeed.
Let me guess: it went "Show your ****, Show your ****"
In Dallas, they just need to "ma'am" at the end so that it's polite.

craigw, I think you've got it wrong. Cause it was Jets fans it was probably "T-I-T-S TITS TITS TITS". But if I had to put up with 3-4 hours of Jets football I'd probably be more interested in seeing some funbags.
But seriously, that's disturbing that they would act like that cause she didn't flash them. They deserved to get teased like that. If I took my girl to a Jets game I'd expect to be sleeping on the couch for a week for spending 400+ bucks to go to a freakin Jets game instead of something she would enjoy more. Even if she was a Jets fan she would probably rather stay in the warm and comfortable home watching the game on TV with a brand new necklace than going out to New Jersey.

Jimmy, A necklace? Now I know why you're called Saint Jimmy!

Halftime can be the most enjoyable part of Cowboys games, too, especially when Troy Aikman is calling the games before and after halftime. I see, btw, after all the abuse I took during the game time blog on Sunday for denouncing Aikman's sickening bias in favor of the Cowboys' opponents, that a good majority of posters who have shown up after the game (in the Portis/Aikman entry from yesterday) heard exactly the same thing I did. Joe Theismann was more even handed with the Cowboys' during a broadcast than is Aikman.

PaulC,
I wouldn't worry about it too much. Aikman isn't a football player, anymore. I admit, he seems a little biased, at times, but he is an annoucner.
I am not trying to start something here, either, but he is also human, and you would have to think somewhere deep down, he is a little miffed at how well the team is doing and all the praise heaped on Romo. Who, by the way, if he stays healthy, will break most if not all of the Cowboys records.
Again, I am not trying to start anything, but Aikman is only human. Besides, I don't watch the games for the announcers - I can see the game for myself.

Having been to Giants Stadium on many occasions I can attest to things like this. There's an area known as "The Pit", which is a now-closed ramp leading to nowhere inside of the stadium. People used to go down to the bottom where people used to hurl money (along with beer, urine, feces, etc) at them for fun and profit. They outlawed that a few years back and now the crazies line Gate D and chant / beg women to flash.

Mark, a lot of people think Aikman is still miffed at the Cowboys for bypassing his pal, Norv, for the head coaching job. I don't know. It may be. But he is clearly giving a preference to opposing teams. For whatever reason. The only thing more irritating than Aikman's bias, however, is the snippy defense of him you're getting in the media, with radioidiots (Galloway) and bloggers mocking anyone who points out Troy's failings in this regard.

The rest of us were praying that Turner NOT get the offer, and Jones saw the light.
It was Turner that ran one of the most unimaginative offenses in the NFL. And I blame Turner for our team not winning another Super Bowl following the victory against Pittsburgh.
When your offense only runs one of two plays when Irvin is in the slot, ............ there's SOMETHING WRONG with your offensive coordinator.
As Washington found out, and San Diego is presently learning. Turner was and is overrated.

Mark, Paul C and Dan, you three boobs only Anne Boleyn could love take it back over to the other post and blather on over there. We got us a real topic here and don't ruin it for the rest of it by droning on off topic about crap no one cares about anyway.

New Yorkers and Jersey Cows... such boorish behavior should be expected. Now... out here in the islands, if one wishes to observe the fine treasures of a lovely lady... just go to the damn beach! And I'll put our "dollar-dollar" titty clubs up against any Badda-Bing joint New York City, or New Stinkin' Jersey has to offer... Yeee-haww, y'all!
