![]() AP I left my folding chair in the press box for a bit to chat with some of the Cheesehead-wearing Packers fans in the Texas Stadium seats. There are a bunch of them. Like at least a handful in almost every section. I'd guestimate that 10 percent of the crowd tonight will be Packer backers, including a bunch of Wisconsinites who are Texas transplants. Take, for example, Shirley Hallyburton. She was born in Wisconsin, watched the Ice Bowl as a teenager and has lived in Arlington for a while. She showed up to Texas Stadium wearing a faded Cheesehead, sacrificing a good hair day to support her beloved Packers. "It just ages like fine cheese," Mrs. Hallyburton said when explaining why she hadn't washed her Cheesehead in the decade since she purchased it. I chatted with a lot of folks who had just purchased their Cheeseheads (prices ranged from $18.95 to $25). That included Hartland, Wisc. native Eric Hucke (No. 42,000 and change on the Lambeau season-ticket waiting list). He was wearing a cheese 10-gallon hat that his wife, Cowboys diehard Theresa, bought for him. Theresa looked lovely in her Cowboys T-shirt, blue-and-white boa with matching wig and mini-cowboy hat (2.5 gallon?). Darryl Miller Jr. of Kingsland, Texas, wins the award for most raggedy Cheesehead. He considers it bad luck to wash it, so it's a really funky shade of yellow. And it's been glued back together in several places after somebody cut the cheese. "Well, my old lady is a Cowboy fan," Miller explained. |

For all his detractors, Troy Aikman just gave the Cowboys some love on the NFL Network preview. He said that this Cowboy team may be better than his back in the 90's. High Praise.
