This is another case of bad timing regarding the pro bowl voting. Go back and look at their stats (and team record) when the votes were being cast. And at that time the skins looked like they were about to pack it in.

Posted by CowboyFan @ 9:49 PM Sun, Dec 30, 2007

That is going to be a tough schedule.

Posted by Bill in DC @ 9:53 PM Sun, Dec 30, 2007

Agreed, that is one tough schedule. No way we go 13-3 next year.

Posted by TG in Phila @ 10:05 PM Sun, Dec 30, 2007

11-5...that's splitting with each NFC east foe. Losing at Pitt and GB on the road. But we have business to take care of this year first.

Keep the faith boys!

Posted by mark c @ 10:22 PM Sun, Dec 30, 2007

cowboys stink

why worry about next year..you've got your work cut out for you

one and done this year

Posted by Teddy B @ 10:23 PM Sun, Dec 30, 2007

mark c, why are you a hater?

we will probably lose our first playoff game...but let's wait and see

Posted by TG in Phila @ 10:32 PM Sun, Dec 30, 2007

Mark's probably an eagle fan who still can't believe they stunk it up this year. Why are you here anyway?

Posted by BamBam @ 10:33 PM Sun, Dec 30, 2007

Do we also know what slot the Cowboys' pick from Cleveland will be?

Posted by Make It Funky @ 10:36 PM Sun, Dec 30, 2007

How the hell can anyone predict the record for next year. And what would make anyone think that we can't go 13-3 or better next year? I like the schedule, and I'm glad we're playing in Green Bay.

Posted by Jacqueaux @ 10:43 PM Sun, Dec 30, 2007

I know how the schedule is calculated for the most part, but of the two other division winners in the NFC that we play (Tampa Bay, Green Bay), how was it determined which would be home and which would be away?

Posted by mark c @ 11:01 PM Sun, Dec 30, 2007

I am not an eagles fan

I am a dallas fan..but only realistic...we are way overrated

Posted by James @ 11:37 PM Sun, Dec 30, 2007

Overrated? I'm not sure about that. Dallas certainly isn't playing very good right now, but look at the last 4 weeks.
Detroit- a bad match up for our defense, offense struggles, but does enough to win, also this was Detroits last gasp at the playoffs, it was a playoff game for them
Philly- not sure, chalk it up to a poor performance by everyone, and a great game plan by Jim Johnson
Carolina- again a team at home trying to stay in playoff contention. Game was going fine until T.0. went out. We're not going to blow away everyone by 24 points
Washingtion- the players obviously mailed it in, coaching put together a very, very vanilla game plan on both sides.

Now if we lose in the our first playoff game, I'll take it all back!

Posted by petemac @ 2:56 AM Mon, Dec 31, 2007

James, take it back now brother

Posted by Greg @ 9:33 AM Mon, Dec 31, 2007

13-3 overrated. The only thing I think is overrated is Mark C and his stupid comment.

Posted by Lee @ 9:35 AM Mon, Dec 31, 2007

Of course it's too early to tell, but so long as New England isn't on the schedule all of these games are winnable. I do concede we'll probably lose that Green Bay game (the Cowboys have NEVER won at Lambeau), and possibly the Cleveland and/or Pittsburgh games. Of course you throw in the token divisional loss to the Redskins, and possibly one more between the Giants and Eagles, and we're looking at 11-5 or 12-4.

What's the difference between a 13-3 season with two really unlikely wins and a 11-5 season with close wins and losses balanced out?

The main thing is to win the division and get a bye. Top 3 NFC finish. 11-5 should do that. I'll take it, and it gives room for pleasant surprises.

And Romo should be just about ripe, having seen most everything the NFL is going to throw at him and with more playoff experience.

Posted by Eric @ 11:22 AM Mon, Dec 31, 2007

If before the season started someone said the Cowboys were going to go 13-3, win the NFC East and get home field throughout the playoffs, would any of you had complained? NO! Most of you would have said that was a dream.

Have a little faith. It is difficult to stay motivated to play when you have nothing to play for. The Cowboys are not as bad as they have played lately and I am certain that they will be more inspired come playoff time.

Posted by Brad @ 1:09 PM Mon, Dec 31, 2007

Unfortunately Mark C is a typical Cowboy fan (what have you done for me lately)... We will be fine and doesn't really matter who we play. Washington played an inspired ballgame against a team that was not inpired even a little. The 'boys will be fired up for the first playoff game and just hope they keep the running game in the plan with Barber.

Posted by Mark C @ 5:28 PM Mon, Dec 31, 2007

ONE and DONE

"Mark" my words

Posted by TG in Phila @ 10:17 AM Tue, Jan 01, 2008

Mark is a disgrace to cowboy fans everywhere! Dude, have some freakin faith will ya!

Happy New Year fellow fans. May the new year bring the cowboys their first playoff win in a longgggg time!

Posted by tedster @ 7:29 PM Tue, Jan 01, 2008

Davester P. is a hater. Sorry Saints are staying home. Perfect chance for you to work on your golf game.

Posted by Mark C @ 6:28 PM Mon, Jan 14, 2008

I told you all...ONE AND DONE

we had a playboy overrated quarterback who never performs well in the big game, and a receiver in dire need of medication

and a coach who never ever won a playoff game

Posted by raquor @ 11:18 PM Tue, Jan 15, 2008

19-0 next year. Before the season starts that should always be the hope...if it's not go find a different team to root for and leave mine alone damn it.

Posted by Terra @ 5:34 PM Mon, Jan 28, 2008

go cowboys!!

Posted by butkas67 @ 4:34 PM Sat, Feb 02, 2008

Romo is a punk! When I saw him on the beaches in mexico instead of reading playbooks or watching film I knew they were done. Philips is soft,if parcells was there ,there would have been no beaches. Romo no fortitude.

Dang...the Boys are screwed!!!

Posted by Bobby @ 12:17 AM Mon, Feb 04, 2008

Schedule is easy we beat the team that one Super Bowl twice, intensity we lost it after philly game. We will be back with a fire we have such a young team,Aikman and co had early playoff setbacks.Mistakes and intensity were our only problem. Our defense needs to be more pressure orientiated.

Posted by Sharmaine @ 2:16 PM Sun, Feb 10, 2008

Dallas Cowboys #1 4 life!

Posted by James Johnson @ 6:48 PM Mon, Feb 11, 2008

8o plus yards of penalties was the downfall of the
cowboys in that game. Most of them were at crucial
moments of the game, We made the plays we needed to
make; but penalties took away first downs when we got them. The Giants got more aggressive when they
saw the cowboys hurt themselves with penalties.
