| Dr. Wade 'hopeful' T.O. will be OK for playoffs »
T.O. is a no go this week, but the Cowboys expect to use a thirtysomething receiver against the Redskins. The goal is for Terry Glenn, who has had two arthroscopic knee surgeries since the start of training camp, to make his season debut. How do the Cowboys plan to use Glenn? "As a wide receiver," Wade Phillips said, pausing for courtesy laughter from reporters. "Split him out and throw it to him." On a serious note, Phillips said Glenn wouldn't play a maximum amount of snaps, but they'd like to get the ball in his hands and let him get back in a rhythm. |

I swear there are some real idiots in the Cowboys press corp. Do they really expect Wade to tell you who he may or may not rest or play a limited time so that the Redskins can prepare? And how else do you think Glenn is going to be used? The more appropriate question is "how long do you think Glenn will play".

Saint, even that is a dumb question. The appropriate thing to say is "is TO going to be ready come 2 weeks from now?" And let it sit. You are absolutely correct, SJ. But you have to look at the entry level intellect requirements for sportswriters. Just below strippers and just above politicians. Merry Christmas to all. :)

I would use the same approach as the Bucs this past week. That is, play the first team the first half, and pull the key plays from the game the second half. Do that even if the team is losing at at the end of the first half. Additionally, tell the players what you plan to do.

You guys are so right,
But then it always amazes me some of the namby-pamby questions ask in Wade's press conferences.
They seldom ask any questions I, as a fan, would like to hear ask, like "what is it going to take to get Marion Barber a start" or "can we expect to see Isiah Stanback get some snaps in this game".
I thought it was kinda strange that Phillips spent so much time today quoting statistics, I guess to try to point out that he has a pretty good team. I really believe at 13-2 we are all pretty much in agreement on that.

i'd bet a nickle to a donut that it was timmy tabloid who was the idiot asking the question in question.
wait'll next year when ab rules this here blog (and i never have to read that lame timmy tabloid trademark phrase ever again).

which question's answer really matters?:
a: how long does Glenn play?
b: how well does Glenn play?
the only question right now should be "Will Glenn play?". it seems that the answer is yes.

Glenn is good - play Romo and Glenn for 1/2 the game to work on their timing in a live game. Also, having Crayton as the other starting wideout is good because if T.O. doesn't get well that will be our starters - Glenn-Crayton - and Hurd and three sets.
Bottom line is this - if Dallas runs like it did against the Panthers and the defense plays with an attitude we will cruise to the SB. Then, it will take everything - every player and a brilliant game plan with no mistakes to win the game assuming it's NE. I hope Jacksonville goes into the snow and upsets the Pats! Pray for snow! Otherwise, we can still hold our Cowboy banners up high knowing that this team will be back for more and only better thanks to Jerry's marvelous business decisions.

It looks like from all the Patriots coverage this week, that if they beat the Giants (which they probably will, Eli sucks) and go undefeated in the regular season, then they will be crowned the "BEST TEAM EVER".
So my question is this: When Dallas beats them in the Super Bowl, what will that make Dallas?
Posted by cowboyssince72 @ 11:07 AM Tue, Dec 25, 2007
Cowboys are still "AMERICA'S TEAM"!!!
And we will be the best team ever. Because after we win the Super Bowl this year we will be the only team with SIX Superbowl Trophy's.
HOW BOUT DEM COWBOYS?!!!!

miles austin needs to get more play time ,, the guy has the speed and size to be an impact player and now is the time to find out just how good this guy is gonna be!!! save glenn for the playoffs !

And Miles Austin usually has that Marion Barber look in his eye when he's on the field. Can't quantify that...

"So my question is this: When Dallas beats them in the Super Bowl, what will that make Dallas?"
That is a damn good question! Our heroes gotta get there first, as well as the cheaters... but that's still a damn good question!!
Hope it ain't too cold for all y'all Metroplexians...
Me and the wife are headin' down to Waikiki to hang out with the tourists... sort of a traditional thang for us on Christmas day... start off with a couple of Bloody Mary's at Duke Kahanamoku's, then go strolling around Waikiki...
Ho-Ho-Ho...

I just cut a couple of holes in the ice behind my house to go ice fishing. Way to rub it in Big Tex!
Never the less, Mele Kalikemaka y'all......

Ice fishing? I just open the freezer compartment in my refrigerator whenever I need ice. I've never had to go fishing for it!?!

What did Santa bring everyone? Mushrooms? Annointing the Cowboys NFC champs before the last game of the season is ridiculous. Key injuries can happen when you least expect them. Further, the secondary is certainly not playing as well as we all would prefer. I just hope the coaches and players have the good sense to focus completely on winning ONE playoff game, the first if more than 10 years, before looking ahead to the NFC championship. Then, they will have to hope Favre goes 0 for 10, a string that might well be broken to the dismay of Dallas fans everywhere.

Uhh, little ROCK... did you hijack our presents from Santa and consume all 'dem mushrooms yourself? 'Cuz I don't see anyone within these postings making any anointments... well, cowboyssince72 is obviously thrilled with the way the season has been going thus far, and he just might be getting a little carried away, or he got himself some of those shrooms you mentioned, but that's okay... he's allowed. thepainster did say "When Dallas beats them...", so I gotta give some of that one back to you, but I think that bit of hyperbole had more to do with the premise of the question he raises rather than making an anointment...
...but I'm willing to go out on a limb and say this: our heroes will win AT LEAST one playoff game this time around, and it's looking pretty good that they'll make it to Glendale, too.

Dallas would become the best team in NFL history's daddy

Miles Austin is good. However, if you remember last year, he fumbled quite often on the kickoff returns. That has to be the only thing holding him back. It's obvious that he gets more on returns than any other player we have on kickoffs.

Just a Reminder. Earlier this season (Sep 07) I predicted the Cowboys having a 14-2 record. I know the "News" folks have to do their job providing input on the Cowboys. I've been a Cowboy Fan since the Sixties and grew up in "East" Texas (Tyler). I've studied this team for years. I can only say the next winner of the Super Bowl, Feb 2008 is: "The Dallas Cowboys".....

Dallas is going to show everyone that New Englands lucky their not in the NFC it only happens once against us and on a pitiful note Eagle fans sit back and enjoy the playoffs on TV like we did for 4 years
