Roy.
ROFLMAO

Posted by Bledsoe @ 2:05 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007

MARION BARBER RULES!!!

Posted by Fleet @ 2:05 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007

The fact that Roy is only an alternate is intriguing in that he lead the NFC in fan voting. Apparently his peers have noticed that he is not an All-Star.

Posted by Brandon B @ 2:07 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007

Tim, what did you win from Albert for being closer? I was shocked to see Albert not giving the Cowboys enough credit. Of course that whole east coast bias stuff is BS.

Posted by The Texas Hammer @ 2:17 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007

I'm outraged that McBriar didn't make it in! Well...not really. But I'm glad to see Greggor Ellis make it on the alternate list. Good for him...great guy.

Posted by Justin @ 2:20 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007

Tim - thanks for putting in the nicknames. Only you missed the best one:

K Nick "Big D!%#" Folk

Posted by Charlie Dynamite @ 2:21 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007

Barber, Folk, Biggs and Hamlin - perefct! 4 more long term pieces to the next dynasty...

Posted by Mike @ 2:28 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007

Didn't the NFL start a rule this year saying suspended players cannot participate in the Pro Bowl. Does this mean Roy won't get to go even if he is selected?

Posted by Chris/Denton @ 2:36 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007

Glad to see Newman make it for the first time as well as Barber and Ellis.

Like someone else mentioned, R. Willaims leading the vote with fans but only making it as a sub DOES show that coaches around the league are starting to doubt his abilities. I wish he would just start playing that same old hard hitting wreckless (at times) football that made him so much fun to watch.

He seems to be thinking too much and perhaps he should just go back to playing on instinct and passion. I really don't like putting him down, but he has played poorly.

Posted by James @ 2:42 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007

Roy Williams as an alternate??? You got to be kidding me?!??!?! He shouldn't have even been mentioned at all. Geeeeeezzzzzzzzz Glad to see Newman on board, and my man, BIGG going to the ProBowl.

Posted by Chris Berman @ 2:43 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007

Tony "Romeo" Romo
Terrell "Buttered Popcorn" Owens
Jason "Helmetless Horseman" Witten
Marion "The Barbarian" Barber
Flozell "Premie" Adams
Andre "The Giant" Gurode
Leonard "Double Wide" Davis
Nick Folk "Hero"
Terence "Hello Jerry" Newman
Ken "Green Eggs &" Hamlin
DeMarcus "Hard" Ware... could go all the way.

Posted by 666 @ 2:45 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007

YOU WOULD THINK A PRO-BOWL HALFBACK WOULD
BE STARTING FOR HIS TEAM NOW WOULDN'T YOU.

C'MON WADE, START THIS GUY AND GIVE HIM 20 CARRIES!

THE SUPERBOWL DEPENDS ON IT.

Posted by craig @ 2:47 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007

Roy doesn't deserve it. He's been one of the worst safeties in the league this year.

Posted by TG in Phila @ 2:48 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007

Mike, the NFL says the limitation for postseason honors applies only to players suspended for violations of the policy against anabolic steroids and related substances. In other words, by Roy breaking the rule named after him, it doesn't result in application of the Shawne Merriman rule.

So Williams will be able to go to Hawaii as an alternate if needed . . . and to drag down the best players in the AFC by grabbing from behind the neck holes in their jerseys.

Posted by Tod @ 2:55 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007

Wow, the Cowboys send a team record number of players to the Pro Bowl, and half the comments are about a player who made alternate. Get over it people - Roy has his problems but isn't worth near this much wrath.

Nice to see Barber get recognized while not starting. And I'm happy to see TNew get his due.

Yo 666 -

Right on my brotha.

Posted by TDogg @ 3:05 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007

If Roy was cut, 31 other teams would be banging on Jerry's door. Well, maybe not Pittsburgh or the Colts. So get over it. He's still a feared player. We should be happy to have him.

Posted by Rod @ 3:09 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007

The expectations of Roy are really high, rightfully so, but you are right Tod(Not Rod and Tod Flanders either SmrtAsis), he isnt all bad. If he didnt make 10 million a year, fans would probably be satified with his play. Sean Taylor (RIP) had similar skills and weaknesses but never faced this much scrutiny.

Congrats to all the new guys in the PB. Awesome to see Hamlin and Newmann make it.

Posted by Jeff L. @ 3:11 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007

You'd think that a team with a QB, running back, tight end, wide receiver and 3 offensive linemen in the PRO BOWL could manage to score a TD at home against a sub .500 team.

But, that's just me.

Posted by vacowboys fan @ 3:12 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007

In essence, the pro-bowl becomes Dallas vs. the AFC.

how many picks has (romeo) romo thrown this year?

Posted by Babyarm @ 3:17 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007

Roy, a feared player?? Ha. Apparently Coaches and players don't think so.

Posted by Babyarm @ 3:20 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007

He's thrown 17. Considering he's thrown 8 in two games, not bad for a first year starter.

Posted by Teddy @ 3:22 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007

Actually the number should be 10. Hamlin is replacing a dead man in Taylor. He is an alternative. But Taylor died so Hamllin is in.

Posted by Raz @ 3:22 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007

My boy T. New finally in... and Roy Williams finally out.

Halelujah!!!!

Posted by ap @ 3:30 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007

Wow - that's awesome! Great news for some of the players who finally get the recognition they deserve. I've got a strong hunch that Ratliff will also be going next year.

My question is this - if all of the Dallas offensive players line up for the NFC, who gets to take the remaining 4 positions?!?

QB Tony Romo
WR Terrell Owens
TE Jason Witten
RB Marion Barber
LT Flozell Adams
C Andre Gurode
RG Leonard Davis

That pretty much leaves FB, LG, RT, and another WR. Nuts!!

Posted by Rod @ 3:35 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007

When you throw over 40 TD's, INT's in the high teens is acceptable. The is particularly true when 8 come in two games. A QB that throws that much will throw INTs. The great Brett Favre throws an average of 18 a season over his 16 years.

Posted by vix @ 3:44 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007

Teddy, close, but, still wrong. Williams is the alternate. Hamlin is a reserve and will start at FS for Taylor.

Wonder why there was no reserve listed for Sharper at SS?

P.S. Your Captcha Code technology sucks! Have to post everything 3-4 times

Posted by craigw @ 4:21 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007

NO WAY Gurode is a pro-bowler. He'd be benched if it wasn't Romo running after his way-off snaps!

When his snap sails over Farve's head it will be all too apparent.

COMMENT SUBMISSION SOFTWARE IS STILL BUGGY!

Posted by Gooday Mate @ 5:42 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007

This may seem trivial but how can McBriar not make the squad?

Posted by a-train @ 10:11 AM Wed, Dec 19, 2007

gooday mate...Andy Lee that made it from SF has a higher average yards per punt and a higher net punting average than your boy from down under

McBriar's gettin hitched the weekend after the Pro Bowl...he'll be able to enjoy that time that much more...doesn't take away from the fact that he's a great punter

Posted by Joseph Baginski @ 5:20 PM Wed, Dec 19, 2007

Everybody loves Marion Barber! Why don't we use him for more carries? We are wasting a valuable resource that would ease the pressure on Romo and others to perform. The Eagles game was very winable but we blew it with his under-utilization. Too much sharing with Jones has hurt the team! Lets not blow another game for this dumb reason.
