Here’s how the Cowboys attacked Donovan McNabb on his 49 pass drops: 4-man pressure: 33 of 49 snaps (17 first half/16 second half) McNABB NUMBERS WHAT IT MEANT: The Cowboys sent more rushers more often than in the teams’ first meeting, and I’d guess the reason why is that the Eagles offensive line is better now than it was then. And it’s also probably no coincidence that Dallas felt more comfortable sending fewer guys at McNabb after guard Shawn Andrews’ injury, before which there was a 50-50 split between 4- and 5-man pressure. Primarily, the Cowboys brought their four-man rush out of the 4-2 nickel front, and from the 3-4 base look. Meanwhile, blitzing came from the “Cowboy” front, a 3-3, and also out of the base. Despite the success of the rush, with four sacks, there were struggles early on in giving McNabb room to run that forced the Cowboys to spy with Jay Ratliff. Ratliff would drop off the middle of the line, with two players to each side going after McNabb in the “Cowboy” front. All in all, this was a good afternoon in getting to McNabb, while keeping receivers in front of the coverage and preventing big plays. |

I wonder why there's no "Offensive Rushes Anaysis". Hmmm. Perhaps that part of the offense was non-existent.
