![]() JOHN F. RHODES / DMN That Journey tune is kind of Tony Romo's unofficial theme song, and it certainly fit today's game. Romo managed to pull out a victory in a game the Cowboys really had no business winning. And he's certainly not apologizing that the Cowboys' 28-27 win over the double-digit underdog Lions wasn't more impressive. "We're good enough to win the Super Bowl," Romo said, pointing to a team's ability to win games like this as a quality of a champion. Romo's presence gives the Cowboys confidence in their comeback ability. Completing eight of 10 passes for 78 yards and a TD on the game-winning, two-minute-drill drive will only add to that. "We always feel like we have a chance to win the game," said Romo, who passed for 302 yards and two TDs. "We're going to find a way to have a chance to win the game." |

The Cowboys are so fortunate to have Tony Romo. I was at the game last year against the Giants, when Parcells benched Bledsoe, and I truly thought the season was over. So did my three buddies. Instead, what we have seen since then amounts to the best stretch of regular season play by a Cowboy QB in franchise history. Time will tell if that translates into the playoffs, and if Dallas can do something special if (and when) they reach the Super Bowl.
Every game I'm amazed that an undrafted QB became the franchise player for the highest-profile team in the NFL. We as fans should be thankful every time we watch Romo play. Some NFL franchises will never have a Romo. We somehow keep finding them.

12-1 NFC East Champions !!!! The Lions played well give them credit they played a good game and have some players that stepped up. I am a lil scared of the Vikings if they win out they could give us trouble!

If Dallas does'nt keep up a desent pass rush and start playing better in their secondary they will be vulnerable to anyone!

The Cowboys shouldn't have won that game. That being said, that last drive was ridiculous. The crazy thing about it, when the drive began, you believed it was possible. Romo is clutch, what else can you say.

Romo is not Superman, he is a Jedi.
In Romo I trust.

Although I am not a Cowboy's fan, i am starting to believe that maybe Antonio Ramiro Romo (his real name) is perhaps the real deal. Now Hispanics have a top tightend (Anthony Gonzalez) and quarterback in the NFL.

Tony is just lucky but it will soon run out. How quickly you all forget how he fumbled during the winning drive but he was "lucky" that Kosier fell on top of it. The luck ends in the playoffs again. I'll be ready.

We probably wouldn't have won this game without Tony, but nonetheless, a win is win. We're by no means ready to win the Super Bowl...a long way to go.
PS..is anyone else having trouble seeing this blog in Firefox this week??

The Cowboys got a lot of help from the refs. Two blown pass interference non-calls in the first half saved at least 3 points, if not 10. The Cowboys fumble in the first half that the refs gave back to the "Boys" was terrible.
The Lions should have won in the end despite the refs, but the refs gave the game to the Cowboys in the first half.
Horrible.

And whitten didn't fumble at the 1. Refs are human. Stop your belly aching. If what ifs were fish there'd be no room for the water.

Whitten didn't fumble exactly why, because he is a Cowboy and Dallas just doesn't fumble? He did fumble, Dallas had 3 turnovers in that game, one given back by the refs and the Lions are to blame for not keeping the third. Dallas is not going to the SB, not after today.

Look at the replay moron. He was down with the ball. Man up and take the loss. Want some cheese with that whine? My kids don't whine as much as you.

It was clearly a fumble. Why do you think the "Cowboys" replay guys didn't tell Phillips to challenge the call. Steve is also right that they fumbled in the first half as well but the refs gave it back to the Cowboys... Merry Christmas Cowboys. Early gift.

I hate everyone of you that continually call Witten "Whitten", that is all.

"Sayin Roy Whilliams sounns funny too." ;-)
(...err akshully, it sounns teh same.) :-)

He didn't call the replay because he didn't want to possible waist two time outs. I watched it and it wasn't a fumble. But you are still a whiner. Spelling is not my talent saving lives is.

It was a fumble, no doubt. However, there was about 1/2 second after the ball and Witten were on the ground that his right hand was resting, probably unknowingly, on the ball. Does that end the play? All movement had stopped when Blue swiped the ball. Would have been a close challenge, but the fumble was a no brainer.

"Oh yea, it wuz a fumble no doubt. But as far as the ball being dead, well, the whistle hadn't blown, soo, PLAY-ON!"
"Go Cowboys!!!"
