The Cowboys have opened up a priority waiting list for season tickets at their new stadium in Arlington, set to open in 2009.

You can find that at the team's official Web site, starting at some point today. But it's not free. Everyone stepping up to the plate in search of seats will have to plop down a $100 deposit.

The list was set up because the team has been besieged with phone calls on how to secure tickets, and this seems to be an easier way to deal with the masses. Before anyone comes off that waiting list, the demand from current season ticket holders will be addressed. And if you get on the list, the club says, don't expect an answer on whether you'll get tickets or not until next summer.

Once the new stadium opens, my plan is to save up and buy some nice seats from a broker one time just so I can say I've been there/done that, then continue enjoying the games in my living room in abject comfort, with HD and pause/replay at my command. More power to the ticket buyers for contributing to the pot... :>)

Thanks for the tip -- just signed up for 2!

Yeah, it's expensive. But it's a very limited commodity and people are literally standing in line to pay.
