Give Tony Sparano his due

Tony Sparano, the Cowboys assistant head coach, has been way overlooked this year, but there is some vindication that three of his linemen - Flozell Adams, Andre Gurode and Leonard Davis - were named starters to the Pro Bowl.

Since 2005 when he took over the offensive line, the Cowboys have sent the aforementioned linemen to the Pro Bowl as well as Larry Allen.

Sparano deserves more recognition for the job he does. He plays a big part in the game planning each week, and remember he called plays last year when the Cowboys had a 1,000-yard rusher, two 1,000-yard receivers and a Pro Bowl quarterback, tight end, center and left tackle.

Wow. From being labeled a bust to the Pro Bowl... I guess they're doing something right with Leonard Davis.

Yet another magnificent Tony. Great job by the overlooked one.

What about the run offense.

Why isn't this line blowing people off the line of scrimmage.

Why hasn't our offense put together a single lengthy drive with nothing but running plays, as the Colts often did.

In clutch moments, when we've needed yards off the running game, we haven't had it.

We got to the air.

And I want our line to blow some people up during the 2d half. We should be able to go hurry up, and do nothing but run the football, keeping a defense that is schemed for the pass, dealing with nothing but the Barbarians ripping and gashing into them.

Isn't that what all of us want to see, if only occasionally.

We need the ability to put together STATEMENT drives.

I know I haven't forgot about Sporano. The offense is only as good as the offensive line. They have done a wonderful job because he has done a wonderful job coaching them.

Tony Sparano is a tremendous football coach, I should know I played for him at the University of New Haven. He's done a great job with the off. line and J. Garrett needs to run the ball more and let those big guys up-front impose their will on opposing defenses.Coach Spo should get his shot at being a head coach in the nfl soon...maybe with an old friend B.Parcells and the Miami Dolphins.
